My experience ordering from OD online was truly the only negative one I've had since I began ordering over the internet 8 years ago.
After researching printers and prices I chose OD because they offered a $75 mail in rebate and Canon also had a $30 rebate which brought the $200 printer to under $100.
I also found several coupon codes for "free" items with certain dollar amount purchases. The computer let me add two of these items, a cooler and a refrigerator, and when I checked out it showed both a price for these items and a credit because of the coupon codes.
When I received my email confirmation/receipt - I was being charged $110 for the two free items. So, I had to call customer service where it was explained that I could only one coupon and she fixed it so that I would receive the cooler only.
The cooler arrived in two days, the printer was to arrive on a Friday being a "3 day delivery" due to being a special order. As others have mentioned, there is no tracking information available on the site, only a promised delivery date. When the printer hadn't arrived by 4:20 I called again and was told that it would arrive before 5 pm.
Of course it didn't and I called early Monday morning to check the status and the rep couldn't tell me anything about the status - all he said was to call tomorrow if it didn't come THAT day. When it didn't arrive Monday by 4:30 I called again - this time the rep said he would send a message to the mythical warehouse to call me.
Someone did call me from the warehouse that evening but they had nothing to say either except a manager would call me.
At 7:30 am Tuesday someone called and said my order had gotten "stuck" and wouldn't have shipped. And now - it was out of stock! I asked if we could pick it up at a local store - she said she would check, but then came back and said they were out of stock as well so I told her to cancel my order.
An hour later my husband stopped at the local OD and found 2 on the shelves (priced $20 below what would be needed to honor their rebate.)
I sent an email to customer - noservice asking
1)why it took until two days after the promised delivery to discover it was out of stock?
2)And how is it out of stock when it is in the local store?
3) Would they honor our original agreement including the price and let me pick it up at the local store.
The response did not address items 1 and 2 except to say that she checked "every store in the United States" and it there were none to be found.
For (3) she said they could not "raise" the price just so I could receive a rebate but I was only asking for them to hold up their end of the bargain.
At least I got a cheap useless collapsible cooler for free out of the deal...
