I visited Newegg.com several times, checking prices and comparison shopping, before I actually ordered from them. I ordered an external hard drive and was delighted when it arrived just when they said it would, only a few days after I ordered. A friend, who orders from them on a regular basis, told me not to expect it to arrive too quickly. He said they would be slower than they stated on my account information. Happily, though, they were right on time.

The store front is made up of ads for various items, usually computer parts, laptops and pcs. On the left of the page is a menu for computer hardware, pcs & laptops, electronics, cameras, software, gaming, cell phones, home & outdoors, automotive, outlet and more. At the top of the page there is a menu for upgrading to a newegg business, login, shopping cart, wish list and help. There is also a handy search box. Hovering over the left menu item will bring down a second menu listing the various items in that category. Besides the regular menu, if you scroll down the front page you will find buying guides for things like digital cameras, DSLR and camcorder. There is also a menu for their featured stores including video cards, hard drives and motherboards. The footer includes links to customer service, shopping help, my account, company info and tools & resources. All in all, newegg.com has a very thorough website.

My purchase took me to the computer hardware section where I looked for a good external hard drive. They had a huge selection, but I finally found the hard drive I wanted to purchase. I chose the Seagate 1 TB USB Portable Hard Drive, and added it to my shopping cart. Checkout was simple. I added in the usual information, name, address, shipping address, credit card information and then printed out my receipt. Order processing was easy, fast and convenient. The tracking information was given to me so that I could check back to see when my item had been shipped. I did this and was happy when the hard drive arrived, packaged in a much larger box with plenty of packing materials around it, just on time.

Newegg.com, in my experience, shares an excellent website with a huge volume of in stock items, especially for the computer “geek”. Their check out only takes a few minutes and the item arrives just when it is supposed to. I am thrilled with my external hard drive and I plan to shop newegg.com in the future.

I recommend newegg.com to anyone who is interested in buying computer parts or even a new computer. The site has quality merchandise that is usually less expensive than other sites. Their checkout is relatively fast and simple. And they send your order out right on time.
