After looking at Select Comfort, liking what I saw, but disliking their policies on returns, I decided to check the Internet for comparable products.
I had a king sized bed but, since I had an lovely double cannonball frame, I decided to go for more room in the bedroom and order a double mattress. The cost at Select Comfort was very high.
I also wanted to have an adjustable bed. Select Comfort did not even have the adjustable in a double.
After reading the reviews on the Nationwide website, I called Nationwide and spoke to Richard about ComfortAire. He told me that they did have the double in an adjustable, but only in extra long, which would preclude me from using my footboard.
After discussing the options, I decided to go for the double extra long with the adjustable feature and resigned myself to not being able to use the foot board.
The next day, Richard called me and left a message that he was going to "make my day." When I called him back, he told me that Comfortaire now had a regular double with the adjustable feature. It did make my day. Richard told me it may take longer and asked me to be patient.
I am not sure how long it was, but sooner than I expected, my new bed was delivered.
The ComfortAire feels the same to me as the Select Comfort. It is great and I love the adjustable feature. I found that the pillowtop unzips and I replaced the egg carton foam with a cut down version of the king sized foam pad I had on my old bed. I like a soft bed (like Goldilocks) and this made it just perfect, though it was fine before I did this.
Richard was great to deal with. The people who delivered the bed were helpful and polite.
If you are looking for a bed with the same features and comfort as the Select Comfort, I suggest that you try the ComfortAire. I got exactly what I wanted for about $500 less. And be sure to buy it from Nationwide Mattress. Say "hello" to Richard for me and tell him the bed looks great with the headboard and foot board.
