I usually don't write reviews, but my experience with NYliving.com has been so bad I feel compelled to warn others. Don't be lured by the difference in price between them and their competitors. In this case, you actually get less than what you pay for. I ordered all new appliances from them, which were supposedly in stock. Two weeks later, no appliances, or even an estimated delivery date. So I called them and the guy on the phone told me that one shipment was going out that day, and the other one the next day. Ok, great, thanks. A week later, still no call, email or anything about the shipment. I write an email to them because I didn't have time to call. No reply. I call again to see what the problem is and they don't know. Finally I get a confirmation email with a tracking number from yellow.com, the freight shipper. It then took another two weeks for the appliances to come. But, guess what? I'm short by one $500 microwave! It just vanished! The shipper doesn't know where it is, and although I haven't called nyliving.com yet I have a funny feeling they will be clueless too. They lie on the phone, and don't even bother to respond to emails (2 in total), so why should I even think they would do anything to help.?
Fortunately I had the good sense to use my mastercard for the order so I will get them involved if I have too.
Stay away from NYLiving.com.
Update 12-06-06:
Still no microwave. I called NYLiving.com at the beginning of last week to see if they could do anything. I wasn't sure if they would since the bill of lading had the microwave listed in it, and therefore fell under the responsibility of the shipper to resolve the matter. To my surprise though, the c.s. rep at nyliving did not tell me they wouldn't help, so that is at least something positive in their favor. So here is a list of the three calls I made to them last week & this week.
1) Last Monday. Called to report the shortage. I was hung up on once, then called back. The c.s. rep told me not to worry and that somebody would call me back the next day. She quickly rushed me off the phone because it was almost 6p.m. which was their closing time.
2) Tuesday. No call back so I called them at the end of the day. They then informed me that the microwave was on back order and that they would be getting them in at the end of the week.
3) Next Monday. No word yet, so I called again. The c.s. rep said she talked to the manager and that they would be shipping it out that day.
So it's Wednesday now. I will call them today and see if they have a tracking number for me. If they don't, then I will know they were bluffing once again. If they do, then thank goodness.
Update 12-14-06
No Micrwave yet. No tracking number. Last Monday they said it was shipping that day. They are in NJ and I am in RI. Gee, I think they lied to me again.
Update 12-14-06
Well after calling them this afternoon they said it had been shipped already and gave me the DHL tracking number. Turns out it had been delivered this morning. I just haven't seen it yet because I'm still at work. So I'm glad I have it, but they still lied to me about when it shipped. They told me last week it was shipping on the 4th, but the DHL website revealed it had not been shipped until the 12th. So, as expected, it only took 2 days for it to get here once it was shipped.
Hopefully this is the last update I will have to write. I hope to never have to deal with them again. The agony! Two months later I finally have everything. Please don't let the microwave be damaged!
