Macys.com

Macy's recently acquired both Meier & Frank and Bon Marche store chains. My purchase experience was through Meier & Frank/Macy's. I purchased a KitchenAid mixer at a great price. I paid extra for speedy shipping, so as to receive it for a Christmas gift. The order was placed on 12/12/05. Delivery was expected by 12/19/05, at the latest. On 12/23/05 I phoned customer service to inquire about the unreceived delivery, since no online tracking was available. I was told it was on the UPS truck for delivery that very day. It was never delivered.
Another call to customer service was frustrating, at best. They could not tell me anything. They said UPS lost the package, and they could not ship me another mixer--the missing one had to be located;They will email me or phone me with information within 7 days. I got neither a phone call or an email.
The actual date I received the mixer was 1/5/06 and it was sent US Postal. No explanation was given. The box was quite damaged and no packing slip was enclosed. Needless to say it was a very negative experience.

Wow!! Wonderful service and lucky us was on a weekend mini vacation and met the nicest, most helpful personell, Helen, Marianna, Naa, and Sam. Wonderful personalities , most willing to help us anyway shape or form at Penagon City in Virginia. We were on a weekend shopping by train, 2 mothers and two daughters, from Penna,Maryland, and Texas. Had a great time and cant say enought good things about these personalities I mentioned.We will be back next September when we all meet for a weekend togther. Hope we run into bargains that we had this past weekend(Sept.23, 24th and 25th. Thanks Macys sales people, it was great fun!!!

every time i click on something that's listed here, macy's says " sorry, product not available". this is really annoying. maybe you should check availability b4 listing it on your website.

I requested 2 day shipping for a Christmas present. The package did not arrive for two weeks, and then I was told that it might be another two weeks before it would arrive. They don't respond to online requests for help, and it's almost impossible to find their telephone number on the web site (it's 1-800-BUY-MACYS). Still waiting for delivery, three weeks later.

Have been shopping on-line for years and very few problems. This year decided to try Macy's for gifts because they have lots of stores, hoping to make returns easier for friends and family. Macy's didn't have the best selection and prices were high, but they had a pretty good reputation.

The results were very disappointing. I've had many complaints from those I've sent presents to through out the year, mostly about poor service. A few difficulties even in stores -- but especially bad on-line. Returns are very slow to process, getting replacement or exchange is almost impossible, and "customer service" often sends standard email responses that have nothing to do with the problems.

Macy's customer service department appears to do nothing more than tell you why they cannot provide customer service. Give yourself a break and shop where you won't over pay to have everyone sorry you sent them a gift

Shopped at this web site because I had a gift card and used it to purchase a gift. Prices were high and web site was slow and difficult to navigate requiring several tries to finally make the purchase. They do not offer gift wrap and charge $5 for a plain white box and a gift card that only allows about a dozen words. Then I discovered an item was on the final invoice that I had removed.

When I contacted the "customer service" department immediately after noticing the error I was sent a stock response that made it clear my request for assistance had not been read and telling me it was impossible change the order. This was very frustrating since the estimated shipping date was not for another 6 days.

Considering many of the items they offer are available elsewhere at a much lower price and all the problems I had with the order there is no reason to ever order from Macy's. There are lots of far superior options for on-line shopping that offer better value, are easier to use and actually provide customer service.

My friend's set up their wedding website under Macy's so I gave a try to Macys.com for their present.

I will not criticize their high prices because their brand name suggest above average prices together with above average service.

While I was thinking that my presents were on their way, I received a call from them on a Sunday afternoon to verify the address that I am sending the presents. They stupidly claimed that it was for my protection, while what they were doing was only saving themselves and delaying my presents.

Then, they somehow managed to ship the presents one by one over the course of a week.

Clearly, Macy's com cannot provide half the quality of service that companies like Amazon.com (which has no ambition to provide high service) provides. Macys.com has a very poor value proposition. I would not shop there again.
