Full review
Every once in awhile, when I receive notification of a sale (through my email address), I'll check out the online web site. Usually, I'll spend 2-3 minutes to see if there's anything interesting and if there's not, I just close out of the site and move on.
I've never shopped at Macy's - either from an online or brick and mortar store perspective - until four months ago. At that time, I received a link to one of their sales and after perusing their items, I was interested enough to continue looking for items.
Macy's website is set up like a typical big-store retailer site. You'll see their star-studded logo and then the various categories of products that they carry online.
And what are those products?
Bed and Bath
Dining
Housewares
Home Decor
Women
Men
Shoes
Kids
Jewelry
Beauty
Sale
Note: In clothing, you will find petite's, misses, juniors, talls, and plus sizes (for women).
Now honestly, I won't shop at
Macy's unless I'm getting a great deal. I find that their prices are too upscale for my budget. The area I usually hone in on is the
Sale area.
Often, you will find things on sale that most of us smart people just couldn't/wouldn't afford to buy otherwise. The purchases I have made on sale - or more exactly - those that have been marked clearance include clothing from the
JLo and
Tommy Hilfiger lines, and
Nine West shoes and bags.
The other area I will frequent is the
Beauty section. I only do this however, when
Macy's sends me some sort of coupon deal (like 20% your shopping cart). The brands they offer include
Bliss,
MAC,
Prescriptives,
Philosophy,
Clinique, and
Estee Lauder.
Ordering is simple. When I find the area I want to shop (like "Sale"), I click the tab and then (this is the cool thing), I can further filter down by category (like shirts, shoes, pants), size and/or brand. This makes shopping go a lot quicker for me because of course, the coolest things on clearance are always the size 4 stuff (and I ain't the size 4 girl).
You can pay for your purchases by VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Bon-Macy's, Burdines-Macy's, Goldsmith-Macy's, Lazarus-Macy's, and Rich-Macy's.
Shipping is charged to you based upon how you want it to arrive and how much you have purchased. As an example, if you order $90 worth of merchandise to be shipped normally, your shipping cost would equal $8.95. Every once in awhile, they do advertise free shipping after spending "X" amount.
I usually select the normal shipping option and I find that my items will arrive in about five business days.
Sales tax is charged according to the state you live in.
Although I've never needed to return anything,
Macy's does allow you to return your merchandise either through the mail or by taking it to any of their brick and mortar stores.
Never have I had an issue with my packages shipped from
Macy's. Everything is always boxed professionally and in a manner where things (like my beauty products) stay in place.
Since I discovered
Macy's online, I have ordered from their
Sale area and have been quite pleased with the prices, quality, and timeliness of the shipping.
