I search web for a LCD MONITOR at a decent price. I came upon www.macmall.com for a "X2Gen MG17R 17-inch LCD monitor with 8ms response time" for $99.00 after rebate.

I called in around 5:30 P.M. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on June 26, 2006 to make sure that the order went smoothly. I spoke to a representative named "KIM" (I believe it is extension 7370) on the phone. She sounded as she was far away and her English ability was not that great.

I ordered the monitor was item #: 718170. She gave me break down of the final price in some type of weird English. The final price came out to be $214.99 shipped.
It came with free UPS shipping rebate. So I would have paid around $123.00 shipped for my 17 INCH LCD MONITOR. I gave her my credit card information and everything went through smoothly.

Kim (MacMall's Representative) told me that it would be tomorrow order since it had passed "today shipping period".
Fair enough.

I downloaded the rebate form and the requirements seemed fair.

I called back the next morning around 10:30 A.M. PST on June 27 and was told to call back in 3 hours for the tracking number of the order.

I called back around 2:30 P.M. PST to check on the status of my order. I was told that the order had not been released by the SALES REPRESENTATIVE.

I was transfer to her ("KIM"), I asked her what was the delay that had prevented her to release my order. She told me that the X2Gen MG17R 17-inch LCD monitor was defective and ask me if I wanted to buy the GEM's GM-171B for $10.00 more. I told her let me look at the product's details online and would call her right back with my decision.

I looked at the product's details and found that the monitor had a poorer resolution and not worth purchasing.
Thus, I called Kim (I believe it is extension 7370) back I told her to cancel my order and that I do not want the GEM's GM-171B for $10.00 more. She told me that the order is cancelled. I asked her if there is a cancellation # or anything. She said "no" and seemed disappointed.

Something telling me that I should call back to check and see if the order was really cancelled.

I called back to Macmall (800-macmall) and spoke to a male Representative. He told me that the order was not YET BEING CANCELLED. Thus, he had to put in the CANCELLATION e-mail to have my order cancelled.

I check today at 3:00 P.M. PST on June 28, 2006 and my order was finally cancelled.

I am hesitant to order from MACMALL.COM because their representative failed to cancel my order as I have requested.

If anyone has similar experiences or any opinions, please post them. The last posting was in 2005.
