Item arrived damaged, Lowe's manipulates online reviews

I recently purchased 2 chrome stemware holders for my kitchen from lowes.com. I have always had mediocre results at my local Lowe's store, which I figured was only an issue with the one particular store but it appears to be company wide. When I received the stemware holders (along with a papertowel holder I had ordered) they were packaged loosely in a very large box. The papertowel holder was fine but one of the stemware holders was bent and both were missing the mounting hardware. Thankfully Lowe's allows items ordered online to be returned to any store (but be sure to take your receipt and invoice!) so you do not have to pay return shipping. My store did not have any of the stemware holders in stock so I was left empty handed.
After returning home I went to the product page on Lowe's to submit a review about the holders and my experience with Lowe's, which customer service ended up rejecting even though no explicit language was used and I stayed on topic in the review. As a result I purchased a very similar item online from Walmart instead as I cannot pay shipping on an item and risk it intentionally being sent to me damaged.
In my past experiences, Lowe's is notorious for selling damaged products. A few years ago I purchased a Tappan stove from them and when I got it home and took it out of the box, there was a dent extending all up and down the back of the stove. One good thing about the company is returns are usually painless, which is a good thing because most of everything I purchase I usually have to return.
