I can not trust this company. Bad Gift Card policy.
by puregene, December 5, 2009

I bought a "Roomba" and received a $50 Gift Card. Well, it's been a year since I tried to claim my $50 gift card.
I call several times and never received the gift card that they said has been sent twice. Today, I call again and they said it's over 90 days now since the last time they sent and I can not get it anymore. After one year of getting my $50, I gave up. They robbed my $50!!! I don't trust this company and will never buy from them again. |

I couldn't beleive the price I got on 14 american diamond towels!!
by nettysays, September 23, 2009

I love linens n' things. The products are comparable to high end stores. I got 14 beautiful american diamond towels for a song! Under $27.00 and some change and that's including shipping and handeling. I highly recomend this co. Five star all the way. The delivery service was quick and efficient and last but certainly not least are the towels themselves. Good quality, lovely standard size towels. Before I went to the linens' n things web site I honestly didn't think that I could affored to buy more than two or three towels that I needed for my large family. Let's just say I'm a very happy customer. Now we have enough towels for everyone. I'm planning on making orders from linens' n things for ALL my families' future needs. The product choices are numerous and beautiful. Thanks, D.

Worst Online shopping experience ever
by olympian41, June 22, 2008

I purchased a slipcover online. When I opened the package I noticed that it wasn't folded properly and it was missing the placement stickers. When I unfolded the slip cover I saw that it was covered in cat hair and other nasties. I called customer service the next day and they processed an order for a new item with a discount for my trouble. Great- until I recieved the wrong colour item in the mail 2 days later.
Another call to customer service resulted in another order but they did not give me the discounted price from the 2nd order. Well 2 days later (after another call) I checked the mail and had ANOTHER wrong item in the mail. I now have 3 slipcovers on my credit card (1 damaged, 1 in a wrong colour, 1 the right colour but the wrong item) at 3 different prices. I'm still waiting for the right slipcover & for a UPS slip to return 3rd one as well as the credit for the 1st 2. I have never ever experienced such a mess and will warn everyone I know to choose another online vendor and avoid LNT.com at all costs. |

Do not buy anything online from these guys. Terrible customer service.
by daddywheelz, October 4, 2007

Worst shipping I have ever had in my life of buying online. Forget it if you ever want a refund for an item that still has not been delivered within a month. They have a suck a$$ policy of having 14 more business days after you filed your complaint ON TOP OF THE FIRST 14 business days they promise delivery. It is like the blind leading the blind here. AVOID this store online if at all possible.

Indefinite backorder with sudden cancellation, bad customer service
by naneiki, March 12, 2007
|

|
Horrendous backorder situation - I received a gift card form Christmas to use on their website. I purchased the conair tabletop steamer and received notice that it was on backorder. This was right at the beginning of january. Feb roles around and I email for status - I get a "I don't know email". Then I get a request for review of my shopping experience from Bizrate and am honest about the situation, how they should not have things on their website if they have no idea if they are gong to ship within 30 days. I get a response telling me that it will ship mid-march. Today I get an email saying its been cancelled and I won't be charged, whatever. It was gift card purchase and the gift card was disposed of as soon as we had confirmation it was being shipped in march. I'm filing an FTC compliant. Totally ridiculous and extreme waste of time, could have gone to freaking walmart and gotten one cheaper....

Online Shoppers Beware! Cancelation Policy is entirely unreasonable.
by tripletriangle, January 16, 2007
|
|||||||
|
Pros:
1. Online Store w/ Instore Pickup and Shipping. Cons: 1. Return Policy not clearly identified when checking out. You should be sure you don't want to eat shipping charges if you need to return an item or want to cancel an item before it actually ships. Beware when using Google checkout, it only states the 60-day return policy. 2. Customer Service is appalling. You can see why the big box home stores will eventually die, when the treat customers terribly. |

Avoid LNT.canada - it's not worth the stress!
by wf1992, January 14, 2007

They cancelled some items off my order. A week later, they cancelled the rest (2 days before this, I'd been told the items were allocated & awaiting shipping). The website said they were in stock, customer service said they were in stock, even today that the order has been cancelled, the website shows them as in stock. Very frustrating!
The order that did go through was missing a sheet set (fingers crossed the credit I was promised goes through) and the towels are from such obviously different dye lots, they're going back to the store. Customer service was unable to provide me with useful or even accurate information. Maybe the US site is better, but I'm irrated and disappointed with the Canadian version. |

Linens 'n Things ruined my Christmas!
by jaffeine, December 19, 2006

|
Linens 'n Things ruined my Christmas! I thought I had ordered the perfect gift for my mother-in-law - a custom monogrammed spa robe. I ordered in plenty of time for Christmas and even ordered fast shipping to ensure I got it before I left for the holidays. It arrived with three days to spare, and the packing slip said it was a monogrammed robe. When I opened it up, the robe was there, but it was NOT monogrammed. I tried calling the store to try to get a rush monogram, but they don't do it in the stores. The only solution is for Linens 'n Things to rush me a new monogrammed robe per my original order, but they would NOT and now I'm stuck with NO gift for my mother-in-law and I'm $50 short with a robe that no one wants. The woman on the phone didn't even check to see if it was even possible to get me the robe in three days. I'm never buying anything from Linens 'n Things again.

by svantell, August 28, 2006

Having registered at Linens n Things for my wedding, I am very disappointed in their products. I registered for a scale and had to return it because it didn't work. I recieved a shaker set, and after using it, the lid wouldn't come off. So I bought another one, and the first time I put in the dishwasher, the plastic coating covering the aluminum peeled off. I recieved a canister set that I now cannot use, because the lever that closes the canister keeps falling off. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of their products.

Poor customer service. A product had the wrong price on the sign above it and they wanted to charge me the original price.
I'm not sure how the staff stocking a product at a wrong place can mean that I would not be given the price that was marked on the sign above it. This is truly very poor customer service. What has happened to making the customer happy or the customer is always right? I feel that even in my writing to the LNT Relations address I was not given the appropriate level of customer support. |

by faith_wn, January 3, 2006

Our local Linens-n-Things store has a great selection of cooking supplies, bedding, and stocking stuffer / knick knack gifts. So this is why I thought it would be a great place to find a better pillow. Do not purchase the U shaped neck pillow #079633003726. They only sell a rough pillow protector to fit it and no pillowcases for it. And once you open the plastic pillow bag, simply to see if other cases at other places will fit, they will not give a refund for it because it has been opened. I can understand this concept from a contamination point of view, but they should give a refund anyway and write it off at the store's expense since they fail to offer a necessary pillow case. And now since I can't return it, I tried sleeping on it, and it is hard, very unlike a standard pillow.

I ordered a Thermos Stainless Steel Grill on 12/05/05 for instore pickup. I used an online coupon to get 20% off for a final price of $200. I received an order confirmation the same day saying the item was in stock.
The same evening I got another e mail saying that the order was cancelled. I called their customer service who asked me to call the store saying the store cancelled the order. The person in the store told me that a coupon cannot be used for that item and I was welcome to buy it at $250. I wrote a complaint in the LnT website and they responded winthin a few hours. Thy said that they will ship me the item free of cost at the lower price. Good customer service |

Abysmal shopping experience
by ptarmigan001, July 30, 2005

Absolutely the worst shipping I've ever encountered. Everything was poorly packaged, inefficiently packaged, and many items were damaged when they arrived. On top of it, customer service was abysmal, including failure to call back when they said they would. I do the vast majority of my shopping online and have rarely been disappointed. To say I was disappointed with Linens-n-Things is an understatement. I'll never buy from them again. I recently bought an item from Pottery Barn and the box arrived open with the item's hardware missing. Wow, you'd have thought I was the Queen of Sheba the way that their customer service responded -- they got an A+++++++ from me! Linens-n-Things was the opposite -- they get an F------- from me!

DON'T REGISTER HERE!!!!!

My fiance and I registered at LNT for our engagement party. What a nightmare. The site has been down for over a week. All of the numbers are wrong. We registered for 10 place settings and on the site it says 8. Our parents have bought 8 of the 10 settings, but the site lists that none of them have been purchased.
Also, we have received doubles of items because the site has not updated. What can I really do with 2 bread machines??? Their customer service department keeps telling us to give them a few more days. Well that doesn't help me. Instead we keep adding items to Crate N Barrel. Stay far way from here.....Do a Bed, Bath and Beyond or Target instead. Update: At the end of our debacle the woman who was in charge of the Linens-n-Things registry was very helpful and polite. She sent us a $250 gift card to purchase the rest of our place settings (since we couldn't find them anywhere else). They also took back the doubles with no cost to us. I am happy with their willingness to admit their mistake and rectify the situation. |

I wish I had read this site before making a purchase. I ordered 4 towels. At the checkout screen, it showed they were in stock and ready to ship. When I got my confirmation e-mail it said they were on backorder. These were CLEARANCE towels! How can something on clearance be backordered?
From what I read here, I doubt I'll ever see those towels. |

Poor quality 600 thread count sheets with high price tag
by ellenmay, June 14, 2005
|
|||||||
|
I have purchased many items at Linens and Things and thought they were a merchandiser to be trusted until I had a bad experience with sheet sets I bought from them. I purchased 600 thread count sheet sets that felt very soft and smooth when they were new, but after a few washings they were horribly pilled and it felt like you were sleeping on sandpaper. I had to turn the sheets into rags. I later did some research and found out that sheets from India (which these were) are generally poor quality due to the short staple cotton fibers grown there. For a sheet set that retails for close to $100., I expect the retailer to do a little homework and not pass off this crap on their customers.

Horrible customer service; waited 15 minutes to discuss my order, and on the second attempt - was transferred before listened to (essentially before I stopped talking)... very rude and useless.
Also, as they dont accept credit cards with a Canadian address... after changing my address from Canadian to USA and receiving a receipt that confirmed my order I still got an email the next day saying that my order did not go through... quite ironic considering the fact that with gift registries - the above mentioned scenario is not that far fetched, since Canada is not 10,000 miles away and I can use my credit card on line anywhere else being it Ghana or France, etc... also they do not have any other payment options which I find counter productive and in the age of IT - quite inefficient. |

Web site is too slow, I would not register there again
by tcjjg066, March 24, 2005

My fiancée and I registered at Linens 'n Things because we wanted our wedding guests to be able to purchase gifts online. After we registered, we found the web site would inexplicably but regularly hang our web browsers for 30 seconds at a time, making editing our registry a pain, and making me embarrassed to be forcing our guests to endure such a disagreeable online experience. Unfortunately it's now too late for us to set up a registry somewhere else online, but I would emphatically caution would-be lnt.com registerers against putting themselves in the situation we're in. The problems happened for us with two different web browsers on two different computers that work fine with all other web sites we've tried. It seems like the site's problems are tied to its use of JavaScript, but I would suspect that the I.T. team responsible for the disaster we experienced are quite capable of causing breakage in many other ways, so I would recommend completely avoiding any dependence on them or lnt.com.

This store is awful. In short, we bought a comforter set, on sale. Came home, took off the price tag to see the one underneath. You know how you always wonder if someone would cheat you by raising the price then placing it on sale? That is exactly what happened. We used the coupon and ended up still paying more than what was on the covered up tag. The difference was not a few bucks or anywhere in the single digits. We had a day til the birthday, and it was that day we went back to the store. We ended up having to keep the comforter due to lack of availability of a replacement. Manager was rude and teenager told us bold face lies. Would and will never shop there again. I hope bed bath and beyond demolish this company.

Linens-n-Things is terrible. Here is a breakdown of my online order experience:
ORDER ACCURACY: Poor marks. They did not ship the correct order. The wrong item is shown on their website. DELIVERY SPEED: Very poor marks. Awfully slow. 3-5 days delivery? My order took over a week to arrive. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Decent marks. I called LNT customer service and explained what happened. I decided to keep the product but, under these circumstances, I asked for a refund of my shipping cost. The customer service agent gladly refunded it. OVERALL SATISFACTION: Frustrating. Although I got a refund for my shipping costs, it was a small consolation for a very disappointing LNT online order experience. I can empathize with the other negative comments. |
