CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE

By phone, I ordered Lightolier recessed light trims in two different finishes, which were supposedly in stock. In a timely manner, I received the trims in only one of the finishes. When I called to ask about the other items, the LBG rep said that they weren't in stock and wouldn't be for 45 days. Since I needed the trims for a job in a new house with a move-in date 30 days away, I canceled the rest of the order. Two weeks passed and, surprisingly, the items arrived a month before I was told they would be available--great, except that I had made other plans in the meantime, thinking the order was canceled. When I called LBG about returning the supposedly canceled trims, the nightmare experience really began. Bottom line: I wasted hours on the phone, was basically called a liar by the LBG rep, and received a comically non-sensical rationale for LBG's refusal to take back the items (unopened in their original packaging). Could be my worst retail experience ever! AVOID AT ALL COST. IF YOU CHECK ON THE WEB, YOU WILL FIND MANY OTHER ONLINE RETAILERS WITH THE SAME MERCHANDISE, EQUALLY GOOD PRICES, AND FAIR AND CONSIDERATE TREATMENT OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.
