Woman Within - the website formerly named Lane Bryant Catalog Online Store- has had more than just a name change - customer service is among the worst I've ever experienced!
I ordered 4 blouses online from the new web site and, as in the past, I received an order confirmation e-mail and later a shipping confirmation e-mail with a UPS tracking link. I tried to get information on my order's delivery progress using the UPS link for five days without success. The UPS site repeatedly stated that it had no record of my package.
I then tried to contact someone in Customer Service at Woman Within and spent two very frustrating days by phone and e-mail attempting to locate someone who could help me locate my package and explain why the UPS system had no record of it.
Their first e-mail in answer to my inquiry was labeled "automatic response to save our customers valuable time" This reply just reiterated the question and answer section found in the help section of their website. At the bottom was a non-working link that I could use to contact them if this e-mail did not answer my question. I then went back to the site and hand copied this link onto their Customer Service contact form.
I received a response back from a person stating that indeed the order had shipped and I should use the UPS link to track my order. At the bottom was another not working Customer Service link.
After 3 more attempts to get someones attention to my concern that my order wasn't track-able - I tried calling Customer Service. During this call I was transferred to 4 different people , to each of which I had to repeat my name, order number, and problem.
The replies to my concern about my package consisted of a firm statement that the order had shipped at the time stated; followed by statements that UPS waits 3 to 5 business days to pick up a package after assigning a tracking number to it; and last that I should reset my computer to allow all cookies and take down its firewall.
Repeated attempts to be transferred to a supervisor and/or be supplied with a phone number to talk with someone within the US who might be better able to address my issue met with " I am helping you. Your satisfaction is important to us. You have been given all the available information, etc."
The next day Woman Within's online site had changed my order number and assigned it a new shipping date - the date of my phone calls. Needless to say the UPS tracking number still was not recognized by UPS.
Seeking further punishment, I guess, I tried e-mail and phone calls to Customer Service again attempting to find out why my order now had a new number attached to it and why the shipping date was now changed. They denied changing the date and stated I must be confused because, despite my e-mail evidence to the contrary - they never quoted me the initial date.
(An interesting aside here is that while they changed my order number and ship date - whoever did it left listed the original ship date next to each item in the order.)
My happy ending is that UPS did receive the package - 7 days after the original date I had been told about and 2 days after the second date I had been given.
An Internet search to try to find someone in the company to complain to revealed that this and several other companies including Bryland Home and Roaman's are now part of a global group called Redcats based in France.
Don't order from this site if you desire customer service as that is floating somewhere in the Atlantic without a quality life preserver.
