I made my first purchases at the Lands' End on-line store for Christmas '02. As usual, I was at a loss for ideas when my sister-in-law mentioned my nephew would like new Mocassin style slippers. I did a search and Lands' End came up as an option.
Ever dutiful in trying to please people and get them what they like, I looked at Lands' End and was able to immediately find a pair of slippers that I knew he'd love -- all in about 3 clicks.
Their website is nicely organized so you can hone right in on the specific area in which you're interested, saving a lot of time and frustration.
While there, I decided to look around and see if anything struck my fancy for another tough-to-please recipient -- my mother (see related review of redEnvelope.com).
Unfortunately, she took more than 3 clicks -- but only because I conducted a more generalized search and they had many, many items to choose from.
I finally settled on a beautiful little fleece box-style jacket in a natural color with a smattering of deep green leaves silk-screened in a random pattern.
Once again, although a bit pricey, both gifts were received with delight, were of excellent quality and arrived nicely packaged for giving.
Although I rated "customer service" as good, in fact, I had no need to contact them. My orders were entered, filled and shipped without a hitch and arrived in a very timely fashion; nothing needed to be returned or exchanged.
As a seasoned on-line shopper, I give Lands' End a major thumbs-up.
