Item purchased: Scallop Collection: Bed, Nightstand and Dresser
Comment: The quality of the product is not at all what you would expect for the prices you pay. When we first ordered the items and they were delivered to us, the headboard had a hairline crack on the front, a larger crack on the back with a piece of the wood hanging off! We called Land of Nod and learned they could not ship just the replacement headboard, they would have to ship us an entirely new bed instead. They told us that when we receive the new bed, we were to swap the broken headboard with the new one and call them when we are done, so they can call the delivery service to arrange for pick up of the defective bed from us. When we received the replacement bed (which took two and a half weeks), we noticed that even on the replacement headboard, the "scallop" detail was poorly glued -- to the point where you can see large visible gaps between that piece and the rest of the headboard. It was very sloppy and disappointing. However, given how long it took to get the second bed, we decided to just keep the bed since by that point, sending the whole thing back would be more trouble for us than it was worth.
Land of Nod also uses a VERY POOR delivery service. We live in Long Island, New York and the company they used to deliver and pick up the bed from us was rude and untimely. The first time I called them to schedule a delivery, the woman on the phone gave me attitude because I was unable to take off on the day they wanted to deliver the items to me (who is the customer here anyway?). When it was time for them to pick up the defective bed from my house, Land of Nod told me that this delivery company would call me within the day, I did not hear from them for three days. When I called LoN again, they called the delivery service and the delivery service promise LoN again they would call me back immediately. They did not. After two more rounds of this, the delivery service finally called to schedule pick up. They have a ridiculously wide window of 11 - 3 PM and did not show up until 3:30 PM. The company sent one guy with a minivan that already had many boxes in there, and the poor man had to reconfigured all the boxes to make the bed fit into his van.
The only reason I decided to try them was b/c of their affiliation with Crate & Barrel, but it was a huge mistake. All told, if I had known they were like this, I would have stayed with Pottery Barn Kids.
