I have shopped at Lancôme counters for years. I switched to online shopping when I discovered the ease and the perks of buying my favorite products at the Lancome Paris Online Store

Prices are high but all Lancôme product prices are high. I like the gifts with purchase and samples I get as well as the ease of ordering from the site.

What the Site Sells

Lancôme skin care, cosmetic, fragrance, and accessories.

Navigation

The site is striking with lovely colors and images.

You can browse by category: What's New, Skincare, Makeup, Fragrance, and Sun & Bodycare. You can also search by category of products, line of products, or keyword search.

It's very easy to navigate around and easy to find what you are looking for.

Photos are enticing and descriptions are very full. There are no ingredients lists on the site though.

Each item that comes in a shade has a color chart that is pretty accurate depending on your computer screen, of course. Generally, it's best to know your shades before shopping on the site but you can return items if the shade is incorrect.

In every category, you can sign up for alerts of new products in that category which I think is a nice extra.

There are also lost of tips and application methods outlined for many of the products.

You can also get a "personalized consultation" if you are a registered member which helps you to find the right products and shades for you.

Choose your shade (if needed) and add it to your cart. You can check your cart at any time and remove or add products.

It is to your benefit to sign up as a member. You will get free shipping on orders over $50.00 and will get special mailings with sales and specials. As well, you will get your choice of samples with every order.

At checkout, you will either sign in and retrieve your saved address info or fill out that info if you are a new shopper to the site.

If you have a promotion code, you will enter that. You must enter promotional codes to get free gifts and other member offers.

You will then pick the sample that you want to receive and move on to pay.

Tax is charged in California, New Jersey, and New York - and shipping charges are also taxed in New Jersey and New York. Yeck. Naturally, I live in New York and have to pay those yicky taxes.

Enter your Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, or Discover card number and expiry, confirm the order, and you are done. You will get an immediate email and, soon after, a shipping one.

Orders usually come quickly for me, about four or five days after I order unless it is on a weekend.

My Experience

I have never made an order on the site under $50.00 so I always get free shipping. However, you are charged $4.50 for orders under $50.00.

I have no problem at all navigating the site and finding what I want. Prices keep getting steeper but I must have my beloved Progres Eye Cream so I always wait for a promotion. I just ordered and got several deluxe samples and a full sized lipstick free along with my one sample I chose. The promotion letter came to me in email and I entered the code FANTASY in the box for this last gift with purchase.

Anyway, my orders have always come in nice white Lancôme boxes with tissue paper wrapping my oh so pricey products.

I have needed to return a product a few times over the years and customer service was very friendly. I had no problem returning my products and getting the correct ones.

This is a fairly lofty website with very few sales but, if you love Lancôme products, you can find them all on the site - as well as get free shipping, a free sample, and, often, free gifts with purchase.

I am very pleased with Lancôme's site from navigation to delivery to customer service. I hate their prices but certain products are simply worth the extra cost.

Shipping and Returns

Shipping is as follows:
1. Standard shipping takes 4-8 business days and costs $4.50.
2. Premium shipping takes 3-5 business days and costs $10.00.
3. Express shipping takes 2-3 business days and costs $15.00.

Over $50.00, for site members (which you end up being when you fill out your info), shipping is free.

Tax is charged in CA, NJ, and NY only.

Returns are accepted and they are liberal about the length of time you have to get the items back to them. They include a preaddressed label if you need to return things but you must pay return shipping.

It's best to call customer service to inform them of your return and be sure that you are properly credited.

There is also an online email form to fill out for questions and comments.

Conclusion

I have enjoyed shopping on the Lancôme website for years. The site remains easy to navigate and filled with tips, info, and other informative things to help me find exactly what I need. The prices keep going up but at least shipping remains free over $50.00 and they do have some great promotions.

I have never had a problem with an order and customer service is pleasant and accommodating.

They are fairly lenient about returns and customer service answers queries quickly.

There isn't much to complain about as far as this site is concerned. If you like Lancôme products, they're all right on the site for you to buy quickly and safely. They arrive fast and carefully packed, too.

I have to go with 5 stars. I have never had a complaint about the site.
