L.L. Bean always has my order to me in less than a week. It is always exactly what I ordered. The customer service is excellent! Several times I have wanted to order something from their clearance catalog and had to call for availability of colors or styles.They were more than happy to check each item I wanted to see if I could get it. Lots of times I have returned items I didn't want. The return was done in a timely manner. The clothing, bags, and shoes are of especially good quality and will last for several seasons of heavy wear. I have ordered shoes for me and my little one, clothes for everyone in my family and backpacks for school. My favorite purchase made is two of the boat and tote extra large sized canvas bags. I use them for groceries instead of plastic or paper bags.They are durable and can be washed and dried. They have a user friendly website that is free of technical problems. The sale items are always posted and they have a special item once a week that can be ordered that day. Recently I ordered a sweater from the sale section and it looked better when I got it than in the picture. It said hand wash and lay flat to dry. The first time I followed the instructions. The second time I washed and dried in the dryer and it still looks the same. Quality has it's perks.
The cold weather gear and apparel selection is the best anywhere. You get what you pay for in most cases. I am one to try sales and clearance first anywhere I shop. Sometimes you need to spend a little extra and save some gas and walking to get what you need. With two kids you need a dependable retailer to offer quality items that can stand up to the wear and tear of playing outside at daycare. The only thing I regret is that there is no bricks and mortar store nearby. Maybe one day we can visit Maine and go to the store while we are there.
