Kohl's

I live in a part of the country where there are no Kohl's stores, so I wasn't even aware of them until I somehow got on a mailing list announcing a fabulous sale at Kohls.com. Never one to pass up a sale, I thought it was my duty to check it out. I couldn't be happier that I did, and I continue to shop there often for staples for the family.

What Is Kohl's.com-
Kohl's is a department store that offers clothing and shoes for Men, Women, Teens, Babies, Toddlers, and Children, as well as decorations for the home and seasonal merchandise. In typical department store fair they have their own brand of merchandise Sonoma and many name brand products as well. You'll find selections from manufacturers like Levi's, Mudd, Adidas, and Carter's. They also offer specialty sizes such as petites and plus sizes as well.

Finding Your Way-
Kohl's is extremely easy to surf around, the home page showcases the departments of the store and offers a search box to hasten your results. Don't miss the clearance section, it can be chock full of bargains!
Once you've picked a main category, you'll be taken to that department and offered a wide variety of options. For example if you pick Kids you'll find a listing of sub-categories broken down by size, sex, brand name, seaonal offerings, and gifts.


Check It Out-
Once items are in your cart, then it's checkout time, and at Kohl's it's mercifully easy to do. The usual information of name, address, e-mail, phone number, and billing information need to be set up. Once you're a registered member you'll only need to sign in on future visits to speed on your way. Order confirmation is available to print right away and e-mail notification is sent promptly. Notification is also sent as your order ships out of the warehouse so you may track your UPS delivery as it winds it's way to you.


Shipping-
Shipping at Kohl's is something I have mixed feelings about. The costs are reasonable especially on larger orders, but the time is lengthy. Shipping for standard orders starts at a flat fee of $5.00 and $1.00 is added for each separate item. Works out well if you're picking up a heavy blender or a comforter set, and not as well if you want a pair of socks.

Next day and two day delivery options are also available for extra charges. My orders have come UPS, and were nicely packaged first in plastic, then in the shipping box. UPS is just not the speediest at times.

There is no international shipping available, although military addresses can be shipped to.

Payment-
You may pay for your purchases with Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover or Kohl's own charge card. To obtain a Kohl's card, you'll need to visit the store to complete the application. Too bad for you Kohl's

Security-
You can feel secure at Kohl's as your order is placed, they feature SSL (secure socket layering) to encrypt your personal information and are members of VeriSign and the Better Business Bureau online.


All In All-
If you're like me and haven't heard of this regional department store before, do check them out and see if you're as pleased as I've been. The selection is vast, the products are top-notch, and the service is commendable. This is how internet shopping should be!
