On 7/4, I realized that my chain riveting tool had disappeared. Even if I wanted to try and track one down at a local shop and pay full retail, it was a holiday and the stores were closed. So I looked for the best price from a place that had it in stock and offered overnight shipping.

Overnight shipping was critical because I had to go out of town Saturday night, my chain was torn up, and I had no other vehicle available. I paid nearly $25 for express mail figuring even if they were late getting the order out or if delivery was delayed, I'd still have a good chance of receiving the tool in time to replace my chain Saturday afternoon. Express mail is delivered 365 days a year. 366 days some years. It'll be delivered on Christmas if it's on a Sunday.

So I ordered Wednesday night figuring they'd have all day Thursday to process the order. Nope. Nothing happened Thursday. Friday afternoon, I finally got a tracking number. But all it said was "Electronic Shipping Info Received". Saturday afternoon, it still said, "Electronic Shipping Info Received" and nothing else. I had to rent a car to make my meeting. Got back early Sunday morning. Checked the status. No change. No package delivered Sunday. Monday morning, checked again. Same thing.

I contacted kneedraggers and, despite the evidence to the contrary, the rep insisted that the item had shipped out on Friday and that they had held up their end of the deal. Completely ignored the fact that it would have been delivered Saturday if that was true. Sunday at the latest. And there would be some notice on the tracking system indicating that a package was in transit. Refused to refund my shipping cost despite the fact that I obviously did not receive overnight delivery. Or two day. Or three day. (Saturday and Sunday count with express mail.)

This is my first and last order with this company. I can get parts and tools cheaper elsewhere but I was willing to pay more to get overnight service. Apparently they don't understand (or care) that people who pay a premium for overnight service actually expect the item to ship quickly. Perhaps even the next business day. What a concept. (And it doesn't matter how quickly you slap a label on a package if you leave it sitting on the loading dock.)
