I bough the cookware as a gift, four weeks in advance. After about three weeks after ordering I called KU. The customer service rep was very cordial and helpful. However, the order had not even been processed or shipped. I had been looking for it each day after the two week period, and it hadn't even been shipped. Since I needed it by Friday, the rep said she would get it out 2nd day air THAT DAY (it was Monday). I get an email with a tracking number that says the product was mailed 2nd day air TODAY (Wednesday). I am told it will be here before Friday. This is cutting it very close. I appreciate the rep doing what she could to get the product to me, however, I don't think I want to go through this again, so I probably won't be ordering from Kitchen Universe. 36 bag tins arrived. Instead of 200 bags, I got 144.
They changed the ad after I emailed them. Then took a day to get back to me.

The worst part? The tea's 'best by' date was May of 2007! Customer service said:
"Per our product team, that was an error listed on the website. I can not explain why the tea are past their best by date, however, you are more than welcome to return the product for a full refund.

They made the very generous offer of ALLOWING me to return the order for a refund. Yeah, right. They also made no attempt to compensate on the 1.5 cans that I was shorted based on the 50 bags promised and the 36 bags delivered.
I emailed Republic of Tea and guess what? In less than one hour THEY offered to replace all four tins FREE.

I placed an order on Jan 25th with 3-4 bus day shipping. I still have not received my order though my credit card was charged, and have been unable to reach them via phone or email. NO messages or emails are returned. I had to call the manufacturer of the product to get information and was told delivery is to be expected Feb 11th. Be warned about shopping from this company. Ease of ordering and free shipping are great, but only if combined with truthfulness in advertising and good customer service. This company has neither.

I ordered a tea press and set of tea glasses for my mom for Christmas on 12/18/07. She did not receive the tea press until 1/4/08 and the tea glasses were missing. A phone call to customer service and we were informed that they had a delayed shipment from Bodum and the glasses wouldn't arrive for another week and a half. They did not bother to email about this delay. Another 2 weeks passed and no shipment was made. My mom called and left 5 messages (none of them were returned). I finally called again today and was informed they had undergone a conversion and lost a lot of information. No real apology, except to say, we will process your order again. We'll see if my mom ever gets the glasses.

I ordered the six piece Le Creuset set in red from this business. The website said it was in stock and my card would not be charged until it shipped. (Usually with 48 hours) After a day and a half, I noticed my card had been charged, however I had not been notified about shipping. I sent an email to the company requesting information about whether or not the item shipped, however did not receive a reply. I checked the website and the items I ordered were now showing they were on backorder. I was able to call the business and speak with customer service. She told me that my items were on backorder, but that my card had been charged because they thought it was shipping out. She advised me it was scheduled to ship out as we spoke, so I did not cancel my order. The next day I re-contacted the business because I still did not receive shipping notification. At that point she apologized and said they did not receive the product however it had come in that morning so it would ship out today. She offered to verify this while I waited on the phone, then told me she was sorry but it had not come in. I then requested she cancel my order. Several hours later she sent me an email stating the product came in and did I still want to cancel. At this point, I was very wary of continuing this order with this business, however I knew it would be days before my account was credited to that I could buy it elsewhere. I told her to please go ahead with my order. The next day I still did not have shipment notification, and when I tried to check the status of my order through the website it showed cancelled. I called back yet again, and was told that the order had gone through, it just didn't reflect it on the website. She provided me with my tracking number, and the cookware finally arrived the following week. It is beautiful and in perfect condition. The person I spoke with during this whole incident was always very pleasant, however based on all the other customer experiences listed I feel that my issues were not a random and unusual occurrence. I would not buy from here again unless it was an item I could not find anywhere else.

They accepetd the order and called to leave a message that I should opt for express delivery for an extra charge to get delivery before Christmas. When I called to reach them, all I got was a voice mail. Then I got an e-mail saying it is backordered and I should call or send an e-mail on whether I wanted to keep the order or cancel it. I have called twice and sent an e-mail to ask for information on when it will be available. No one has bothered to even reply to any of my contacts. This is easily the WORST customer service I have encountered in many years of web shopping - I will not shop here again and would recommend to others that they do not shop either. This is an inefficient, indifferent outfit - you can do a lot better on the web.

The worst online store on the planet! I ordered on 12-09-07 they promptly charged my card and did nothing else. I called numerous times and the call center is either not taking calls or the mailbox is full. no response to any of my e-mails either. On 12-17 I filed a dispute with Pay-Pal about them they responded saying the item would ship on 12-22, this was a Saturday and they don't ship on weekends, more lies. I finally reached them on 12-26 and cancelled the order, the operator told me I would get a refund within 72 hours, lie, lie, lie. I again was able to reach them on 1-02-08 and was told by Angela that the billing dept. put my refund "on the back burner because I opened a dispute with Pay-Pal" I promptly exploded and after she re-called billing I got my money credited back. Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid.

On 12/12 I placed an order for a stock pot which was indicated as being in stock. I received an order confirmation which said my account would not be charged until the item was shipped in 7-10 days. I e-mailed them after 7 days and received no response. On 12/29 I still did not receive the pot or shipping information, so I checked my credit card account to find they charged the item on 12/17 - but did not ship the item. I called, only to find out that THEY DO NOT REGULARLY UPDATE THEIR STOCK ITEM INFO and my item was out of stock - of which I was never notified. When I asked why my account was charged on 12/17 but nothing was shipped I was told it was credited on 12/28 - 11 days later!!! When I proceeded to ask questions about the order the "customer service" person hung up on me!!!! I will NEVER shop here again and plan on telling all I know about this experience.
