The Wii Fit was released on May, 21 2008 and the kids were ecstatic about getting one to play the skiing game. Only a few stores carried the hard-to-get item at suggested retail price: Circuit City (In-Store), Best Buy (In-Store), Game Stop (online), and KB Toys (online). Since KB Toys had free shipping and could save me a trip to the store, I quickly snatched on up from them.
KB Toys website quoted that the item was in-stock and my transaction went through without a problem. As the day progressed, all the stores eventually sold out of the item, and I was happy knowing that mine would ship out soon.
Or so I thought. 10:10 PM that night I get an e-mail from KB Toys stating that due to overwhelming demand the "backordered" item could not be fulfilled and they were canceling my order. Backordered?! When I completed the transaction, the site quoted that it was in stock. If I knew that it was backordered I could have purchase from any of the other stores without a problem.
I called their customer service department the next morning, and the rep informed me that it was in stock on the site but not in the warehouse. Say what!?
I kindly ask her how they can make this right. She said that there is nothing that can be done and my kids are basically SOL.
I have a suggestion for KB Toys. There's a new thing call a "COMPUTER" in can be used to track inventory. It can even link the inventory in the warehouse to a website. I suggest that you invest in this new technology so that other kids don't have to suffer.
DON'T PURCHASE FROM THEIR WEBSITE IF YOU REALLY NEED IT!
