BECOMING VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH JTV

A review by gemlover4 written on May 13, 2007
Full review
We have been a shopper of Jewelry Television since the ACN days, approximately 5 years now. We very excited at first.

As we became more and more interested in gemstones; we started reading about gemstones and how to identify quality gemstones. we then started buying professional tools like lights and loops to look closely at the gemstone parcels we were buying from JTV. Most of the stones in the gemstone parcels are rejects, kinda like buying "irregulars". They contain scratches, uneven color saturation, extra wide "windows" (which means bad quality). If you can read written material through the stone, the "window" is too large, meaning poor quality.

we ordered the spice mix and was able to identify out what they called the "spice". Very small rejects of poor quality.

We have also noticed that hostess Cheryl has been reading the same letter from the 12 year old kid who purchased a parcel and found a $20,000+ and a $40,000+ valued stone in his parcel. We don't know how long she's been reading that letter to viewers - 1 year or more????? We question her credibility. We returned the "spice" parcel of 100 cts. We recently fell for another one of Cheryl's sales pitches, Yellow Labradorite, again she pulled out her e-mails of customers who bought these stones at very low prices and had them appraised for much higher...we have not found any such "rave reviews" or high demand on yellow labradorite online. So where are these people???? We have not received our labradorite, we will do some research, check out the quality and if it's not what we expected we will take advantage of the 30 day return and never shop JTV again.

They are also making money on much of their shipping - the items are light weight and sent first class shipped at an unbelievable low price by the postal service. An item that may cost them less than a dollar is shipped to you for seven to eight dollars. Your best deals are when they offer free shipping and sale items, for example we bought a gem and diamond scale (love it) priced reasonable on sale and did they shipped it for free.
