Full review
Late last spring, I got the "green finger" attack. I wanted to start adding color to my flower gardens. Now, I like a variety of flowers, but with the squirrel problem I have that was a waste of money.
So, having purchased from Jackson and Perkins in the past many years ago, I decided to go online and see if they had a website. To my relief they did.
Website
The homepage is easy to navigate through with links to 2008 Roses, Perennials and Bulbs, Garden Structures, Outdoor Décor, Tools and Plant Care, Gift Guide, Gifts by Price, Flowering Gifts, and Internet Specials. Below the links they have thumbprints of their prize winning roses and other flowers you can purchase.
At the bottom of the home page is their gift-giving, shopping, garden help and J&P guarantee links.
ORDER
I found it very easy to shop through their website. I was able to see what my roses would look like after I received them and had planted them.
WHAT DID I ORDER?
A variety of nine different roses and they included the following:
Test Panel - 1) Yellow/White
2) Orange
3) Red
4) Pink/White Stripe
and....
1) Rose Double Delight
1) Rose Dream Come True
1) Rose Mardi Gras
1) Rose MoonDance
1) Rose Wild Blue Yonder
Why did you order so many?
I have six flower gardens scattered around the house front to back and with the squirrel problem I'm having thought they had a better chance of surviving the critters. Plus, I really love Roses and I chose a variety of them to plant.
When did you order them?
My first order the Test Panel of Roses was ordered on 8/13/2007.
I placed my second order with J&P for more roses on 8/30/2007.
I received three J&P printed cardboard boxes with my roses inside plastic on March 11, 2008.
When I placed my order, they notified my that the roses would not ship until Spring of 2008.
What did your Roses cost?
The Rose Test Panel came to $46.90 with shipping of $10.95 included in that price.
My second order included 50 Winter-Hardy gladiola bulbs, 2 Rose Plant Food and 5 Rose Bushes for a total of $155.12. The shipping was $32.95 and I received a savings of $13.58.
Forms of Payment they accept
They accept these forms of credit cards - VISA, MasterCard, Discover Network, American Express, JCB and Diners Club.
They accept checks or credit cards with mail orders only.
So...Did you get all that you ordered?
Yes. The gladiolas and plant food were received between 9/14/2007 and 10/18/2007. Because of my squirrel problem, I have not planted the gladiola bulbs and hope they are still good. Only time will tell.
To say I was surprised at the quality of roses I got is an understatement. Upon opening the boxes and finding my roses with excellent roots and buds forming surprised me to no end. I hurried and put them into water till the weather breaks and they can be planted.
Will I buy from J&P again?
Most definitely!
Thanks for reading.
