I had ordered a camera from JandR.com and when I received my package it did not have anything other than the invoice and some other papers. After contacting JandR for over 2 months I still have not received anything. Some of the CSRs asked me to work with UPS(with who a case was opened) , some said that someone would call me back(that never happened). In short I got pushed around but with no results.I would never buy anything from JandR again.

I went looking for a Canon 75-200mm lens. I found the lens on here. I called and Alex stated he had the lens in stock, and could have to me in a couple of days via ups. He quoted me a price of $1574.00 included delivery. I also asked for a filter and was quoted a price of $30.00, when I told Alex I could get the same thing for $25.00 he matched the price. I told Alex I would get back with him. My wife and I went to Ritz Camera. They had the exact same lens for just under $2000.00 plus 6% sales tax. When I spoke with the salesman of the price from JRs, and asked if he could come close, he stated we don t price match, so we walked out and called Alex and ordered the lens. Prior to shipping the lens, their security dept called me to make sure I in fact ordered the lens. So a couple of days later, I received my lens on factory box and warranty cards etc. I will come back. Very happy with the $400.00 savings.

JR.com NIGHTMARE!!!
I ordered a HP MZ67 Digital Camera. It was not what I wanted. J&R authorized a return. I sent it back via Priority US Mail Delivery Confirmation. The Postal web track says: Status: Delivered. "Your item was delivered at 9:49 AM on April 30, 2008 in MASPETH, NY 11378." JR.com claims they didn't get the package. The Post Master at Maspeth assured me the Priority Mail box was "DELIVERED". Someone in the JR mail room is dishonest. JR.com is blaming the U.S. Postal Service for sloppy package tracking. JR.com has been argumentative with me recently by phone. They called my home answering machine. saying "STOP WRITING bad Epinions.com online Reviews" OUTRAGEOUS It is my Right to warn other online shoppers about JR.com And, it is my Right to have Federal & State Agencies investigate JR. THEREFORE, I have filed a Mail Fraud Investigation with U.S. Postal Inspection Service about this issue. Also, I filed an complaint with the Office of the New York State Attorney General. Someone has committed Mail Fraud ! The Postal Service... or J&R Music and Computer World Online Store JR.com JR.com refuses to refund my money even with Certified Proof of Delivery...WHY? |

Ordered a lens Tuesday. On Wednesday, they sent me an email saying I had to 'verify my phone number.' I called 7 different times, finally getting customer service and they said, "We don't have that in stock." Well, they had it in stock on Tuesday. Further, they have now jacked their price up $140 on a $690 lens!!! It's above what Ritz camera is selling it for now. They tried to transfer me to their "credit dept." but I told them to just cancel the order. Bottom line, I wanted the lens, they lied to me and said they had it, then they crank up their price and want me to buy it again!

I have made two purchases at J&R.com after having recently discovered them. One was for a 4GB Sandisk Titanium Thumb Drive and the other for a 250GB Hard Disk Drive for my Dell laptop. Both times J&R.com had the lowest prices on the items, and both times I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my items arrived.
I can't tell you how many times I have been gouged on shipping, or have been kept waiting because advertised items were suddenly "out of stock" after I placed my order with other companies. I am glad I found J&R.com, and I plan to remain loyal to them, as long as they keep doing business the way they are doing it right now. If you want a truly positive online shopping experience, go with J&R.com. |

I'm a repeat customer. I purchased my sony vaio laptop and all software plus accessories last oct '07. Received the same great experience from your online store. Great products with great prices.
My only feedback was that the Quicken Software box was opened and somewhat crushed from the shipping experience. Needs better shipping materials. It made me wonder if the product was authentic or a customer return since it had been opened.

I would NOT recommend buying from these scam artists! We paid almost $300 for a 22" monitor that had 4 dead pixels. We returned it for an exchange within the allowed 30 day period. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, we called to see what the hold up was.
J&R reps claimed they never received it - which is complete bulls**t because we had the date, time, and NAME of the person who SIGNED for it when it was received! ...Numerous phone calls occurred between us and J&R and the shipping company (D.H.L. - a reliable company). J&R reps suddenly said "Oh yes, we got it, it's being processed." ...MONTHS later, we still never got it back. Again, we went through rounds of phone calls, just to have J&R reps say "We never received it." So now J&R SAYS they'll give us our money back - but that's yet to be seen... $300 down the drain. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone!! I also notice, while reading J & R's reviews, that some people are leaving them wonderful ratings without even writing a review. Very suspicious!!! |
