I was needing a special DVD recorder ASAP.. I looked on the Bill Me Later site for a vidio store where I found J&R Music & Computer World. I found what I needed & ordered it on Saterday after 9PM. I received my order on Wednesday. The price of the product was much lower than what I expected to pay. Their Customer Service is outstanding Online or on the Phone. If I need Electronics I'll go to JRs.

Ordered a product, a month later still had not recieved any notice. I contacted them and told the product would not be in stock for another 4 to 6 weeks although when I had ordered it it said that it would ship in 7 days and it was in stock.

Incredibly fast response time to an online purchase. I ordered on midnight Monday and had the camera Wednesday afternoon. All on regular ground shipping from New York to Connecticut. J and R has always had this quick turnaround time for me. Easy seamless transactions.

I placed an order late on a Sunday (the last day of a promotion to get a free memory card with a digital camera purchase). They didn't ship the product out until the 3rd business day, after two phone calls, and the free memory card didn't arrive with it. I called to inquire as to why the free memory card didn't show up and the customer service representative told me that I ordered the product too late in the last day of the promotion and therefore I wasn't eligible! There was no listed time on the promotion, so I told them that they needed to send me a memory card or I would be denying the charges on my card, which caused them to send the card finally. This is the second time I have ordered from J&R and this is the second problem I've had with their promotions. I will not be ordering from them again if at all possible.

J&R Music and Computer World is the worst merchant I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They never communicated to me that one item was on back order even though it was shown in stock at the time I made the order. Twelve business days have passed, and I'm still waiting for the item in stock when it was to be shipped in 1-2 days. I sent J&R Music and Computer World two emails, and I only received a generic reply to one email five days later. Stay away from J&R Music and Computer World at any cost.

They took 2 days to ship an "in stock" item. Then, at checkout, I selected NEXT DAY AIR which was one of the choices. They took it upon themselves to save a buck and shipped it Next Day Air SAVER. The difference is that Next Day Air guarantees 10:30 am delivery while Saver gets delivered here at about 7:00 pm. So 2 days to ship, over $30 in shipping fees and they can't get the package to me across the Hudson River the next morning. They chose to save a few bucks to use a shipping method I did not choose so I have now chosen not to shop at J&R. The CS Rep I spoke to tried to explain that Next Day Air didn't mean Next Day Air but rather you'll get it sometime the next day. I could have chosen ground shipping and got it the next day since I am close by. When someone has to be home to sign for the package, knowing it will be delivered by 10:30 is much better than not knowing what time during the day. The rep just could not understand this. The customer does not come first at J&R, money does.
