Quick to take money, slow to deliver

Placed my order on 10/8/09, estimated shipping date was supposedly 10/9/09. Today is 10/20 with no sign of shipment. Their website says "order sent to warehouse for shipment." I am going to ask for a refund. No customer service number to call, emails go unanswered.

The order came in good time. The product broke in its second days use. That is when the trouble began! Response time was slow and there was no way to contact except be e-mail. I was sent to the supplier to deal with the issue and they were not supposed to deal directly with me as consumer. This is not an acceptsable way to do business!

Having been on the other end of doing business with this company - we are a manufacturer who sold to Instawares as a distributor.
We did all the work - sold our product to Instawares, then drop shipped to the Instaware customer. When the Instawares account became delinquent, we held shipments. We found out that Instawares blamed the delay of shipment to their drop-ship customers on our bad business practices, our slow delivery time, etc. Their website claimed to have thousands of our products in stock. Also not true - they ordered from us when they received an order. They charged their customers immediately, so they got their money - they just didn't feel the need to pay us within 90 days. Some of their customers would call us in anger to see why we weren't shipping. We no longer do business with this company, and warn other manufacturers of their poor payment history and major game playing. |

I Ordered a $1200 Dough Press online from them. It came with no shipping damage to the package however a major bolt on the unit is bent and the press cannot be adjusted. Again, The box was in no way damaged. I called the manufacturer and explained the problem and they stated I had to contact Instawares since I purchased it from them. I have emailed them multiple times over the past week with no response. No phone number is listed on their site under the "Contact Us" link. It allows Email only with a form or email address. I have done both with no response. I will contact my credit card company tomorrow

This is a really awful company to deal with and I will never deal with them again.
I ordered two products from them, they charged my credit card immediately for both items, and in the confirmation they indicated a delivery time of 3-6 days. Three weeks later they still had not shipped one of the two items in the order. I cancelled the order and now two weeks later they still have not processed the refund. Instead they provide a very poor excuse that they must confirm with the manufacturer that the order is cancelled. I did not order the item from the manufacturer, I ordered it from Instawares and they had no trouble charging my credit card immediately and should have no trouble refunding it immediately. I believe they are essentially incompetent or dishonest in their dealings with me and will NEVER do business with them again. Buyer beware at Instawares! |

I ordered from this company before I read the reviews, I wouldn't have ordered had I done my research first, but I've been pleasantly surprised. My order arrived on time and with no problems whatsoever. The product I ordered was even better than what I expected.
I would think twice before ordering from them again just because of the other reviews, but I had a smooth transaction with them. |

Pathetic. I gave them the benefit thinking the poor BBB and comments were due to just the volume of business. I had the same poor service. Inquired several times about the product that was claimed to be in stock, finally cancelled order. Long story short, I had to contact my credit card company and have the charges reversed. It is not worth the so called savings, shop somewhere else. You will also recognize their sister companies that use similar names with the "wares" in the name.

I hated working with Instawares. I ordered coffee mugs from them, and the first shipment never arrived. UPS lost the box. So, I asked for a replacement shipment. When that box finally arrived at my office, 1/4 of the mugs were broken. They had packed the china mugs WITHOUT ANY PADDING, and had stacked mugs on top of each other, and then crammed a wad of brown paper down on top of them. I have NEVER seen fragile items shipped in such a neglectful way before. Absolutely laughable. When I requested that the broken mugs be replaced, their response was that the "manufacturer" will not break a carton to send just a few mugs.

After reading these reviews, I was a little concerned about placing an order with this company but decided to give them a try. I was hoping that people posting on theses sites were a small number of there customers who had had a bad experience. I will try to address some of the issues on this board as they applied to me.
I placed a phone order a few weeks back for a replacement safety thermostat for an electric fryer owned by my son's football league. Instawares had a very good price ($109 including shipping). The sales person was very pleasant. I ordered it on Tuesday and received the part on Thursday of the same week without having to pay additional shipping (shipping charge was $5.99). It shipped from NJ with final destination of RI. I received 2 emails. The first was an order confirmation/invoice that I received almost immediately after placing the order. The second was a shipping confirmation that came the next day with UPS tracking number included. My credit card was billed for the exact amount they advertised on the web site. They cancelled my order without informing me and charged my credit card without shipping. Instawares.com was listed in many review sites and was listed in top in many search engines, so I thought it is okay. But after they screwed up my order and I have read reviews and can't believe. They are playing with customer's money. There could be lucky ones who got the right products but I think it is their play. I am not American. Somebody in the states has to report to the police. I am under dispute but they are not sending me an cancellation email yet, so I am waiting until 45 days passed from the order date. My credit company told me that after 45 days of order and don't receive the shipments then I can win the dispute.

I ordered an item on close out. It was supposed to be new. When I received it I found that it was severely damaged. I called about returning it and they told me that they don't take returns on close out purchases. It doesn't say anywhere on there internet site that they don't take returns or that the item is used. This is a very deceitful and dishonest outfit and I strongly urge lookers to look somewhere else or you will get burnt like I did.

I ordered 2 pots & pans on 10/29/2006. After numerous calls where they told me the shipment was just delayed, I decided to cancel the outstanding order. They said there is no penalty for canceling, since it had already been a month of waiting. Keep in mind, they charged my credit card the second the order was placed, where as other companies charge it when the product is shipped. I called or Live Chatted with them weekly able my credit. I was told, yes I see it is with accounting, not sure why it is taking so long. Or the person in accounting is out of the office today. Same repeated stories for weeks. I fax all my transcripts of my conversations to the company president - no response. I filed a BBB compliant, and on 1/10/2006 I received my credit.

This company sent me the wrong item...not the one I ordered, and they have the nerve to give me a hard time to return it! They made an error and try to push it off on me. Thankfully my receipt proved I was not the one who made a mistake and they grudgingly offered to accept a return. They hung up on me while I was still asking questions after having been on hold 16 minutes to get a response! What a nightmare! Then they tell me to reorder the item again and "try " to get it a second time! No way! If their own people tell me to "try" to get the right item from them, how can I throw more money at them. Never, ever again with this company!

I tried to return unused glassware and was told that because almost 30 days had elapsed they would not accept the return. It was actually 22 days from the delivery date, well within Instawares 30-day return policy, and this item did not fall under the "unreturnable" items.
The customer service representative placed me on hold twice for extended periods to check with the warehouse but came back each time to say I could not return the item because I had kept it too long before contacting them, even after I assured her I had not used the items and it was less then 30 days from receipt. In hindsight and after reading many of the other reviews, I think this was all a well-practiced act that Instawares cs representatives perform, probably daily. They probably place you on hold for extended periods hoping you will just hang up. Once, the rep came back on the phone, said "hello" twice and then hung up and I had to call back. I will never order from this company again and would just like to warn other people that their 30-day return policy doesn't mean you have 30 days to return an item. |

Ordered deli containers with lids. I was told by customer service that the containers have shipped but the lids have not. Now it does not take a mental giant to figure out how much good a deli container is without a lid. She told me she would check with the warehouse and get back to me. 24 hrs had past and no reply about my lids so I called back and now the customer service lady told me the containers and lids were shipped together. I told her that is not what I was told yesterday. She checked and came back to tell me they had not heard from the warehouse and would let me know when the lids have shipped. Could not give any estimate of time when lids will ship. Customer service is absolutely useless.

When we found that we ordered the wrong item by mistake, we needed to return the item. Instawares then said they would charge us a 25% RESTOCKING FEE! On a $350 printer, that comes out to $86! That is what we are paying a warehouse worker to pick up a printer and put it on the shelf. Ridiculous! We will never buy from this company again.

I have never communicated with a Customer Service group that showed less interest than Instawares. Each time I called/chatted, I was told that my order would be shipped later that day. I always asked to receive shipping info, but never received any. Finally, my order arrived by some delivery service, not UPS as specified.
The product (chairmat) was of very poor quality. I could have purchased a better mat locally for the same price. To Summarize, I will NEVER order from Instawares again and would never recommend their site. |
