My InstaWares nightmare began in June last year when I ordered 2 hot water machines with express delivery, an $1,100+ purchase. While they were listed as in stock, they weren't, but I wasn't able to get a straight answer on that for several weeks. Since the machines were crucial to opening my business and they failed to arrive, my business' opening was delayed by several weeks. My credit card was immediately charged when I made the purchase, however.
After countless phone calls and e-mails, I was finally told by their customer service department that the money was being credited back to my account and should appear on my next bankcard statement. It didn't. Of course, it was then too late to turn it over to my bankcard company to deal with.
At least 3 more Instawares promises to credit the money back to my credit card account were made. I JUST GOT THE REFUND, SOME 11 MONTHS AFTER PLACING THE ORDER. There's an unparalleled disconnect between this company's customer service and accounting departments that leaves customers without recourse. Their advertising of products as available when they're not in stock is deceptive and their failure to credit back money in a timely manner is, to me, fraudulent.
PS: I also had an $90 order of ramekins that never arrived. I just don't have the stamina to fight it.
