I actually had a different experience than most with this company. I ordered a thermostatic shower valve and a couple of other valve components from these guys. The valve looked great in the picture online and looked pretty good to me when I received them. Once my plumber got a look though, it was a different story. He thought the materials were cheap and not compliant with U.S.-made products. He advised me against using them. I trust him and took his word for it.
I called Hudson Reed in the U.K., explained the problem we had had and asked if we could return the items. By this time, we were well past the return period. The woman asked us to get a quote from Fedex on shipping. We did and it came back at more than $100 to return ship to the U.K. Apparently these guys don't have U.S. distribution facilities. Anyway, much to our shock, she told us that since the return shipping was so expensive to just keep the product ($450 value) and they promptly refunded our money. Based on the experiences I read about here, I was fully expecting to have issues with the return. I guess they're changing their policies and becoming more user-friendly.
So, I'd give them a 5 for customer service. As far as the product goes, I think the best advice is to probably stay away. I don't know plumbing enough to comment intelligently....just going off of what our plumber told us.
