My shopping experience with Home Decorators was horrible. I put an order on October 30 and the Item arrived on November 24. Too much time waiting. Items had a free S&H promotion, and they came out with a story to charge me 24 extra dollars. They said it was going to be shipped by Fedex and it came by UPS. I will never buy anything again in Home Decorators. I Do NOT recommend using this site.

Received chair on time in perfect condition. My only complaint was that the color was much darker than pictured online. It was pictured and described as dark brown; however, except for the stitching, it looks black.

I ordered a rug from Home Decorators Collection and afterwards felt a little ill reading all the horrible reviews here. They did charge a lot for shipping --$30--and this doesn't appear until you've gone to the second screen in purchasing. However, the rug was amazingly CHEAP.
I am happy to report the rug shipped the day after I ordered it and arrived in two days. It is beautiful, the right size/product, and high quality. My experience was excellent, but it wasn't furniture..... I've noticed Overstock carries a lot of the same rugs and often much cheaper. But not always. |

The furniture is nice, however, the chest has 3 chips of wood missing in front. I contacted the merchant who offered a small discount. It is not likely that I would purchase a large item again via the mail unless it is deeply discounted.

We have always been very pleased with the company until this last purchase. The area rug is backordered until the end of September and when I place the order last month they charged our credit card immediately. They have never done this before. Very disappointed.

We ordered a tv stand in Macintosh Oak. When it arrived, it was not the dark brown Oak shown on the web site, or in their catalog. It had a reddish tint, like Cherry. Home Decorators Collection will not pay for the return shipping, or the original shipping to us. We are out $150 for an item we cannot use.

If you get what you want and it's broken, DO NOT RETURN it, because you won't get a replacement. This has happened to me a few times, by the time they get the replacement, they will be out of stock for that item. Fix it yourself and save yourself the time and agongy. Espeically if it's a set or if you have multiple things that are supposed to go together. I can't see how these people are still in business. You know how when you go to Home Depot on a Saturday afternoon and how you normally get really bad customer service? Well look at Home Decorator's parent company, ta da... Home Depot. Same crappy customer service. It's all china junk anyway. |

I have been nothing but satisfied with Home Decorators Collection. In the last year I have ordered a metal wall sculpture, a wooden storage bench, 2 lamps, 2 wood/wrought iron swivel counter stools, a bookshelf, and a kitchen cart. Each order arrived within in 7-10 days and each item was exactly as described on the website and of very good quality. The items which required assembly had adequate instructions and there were no missing parts. I love finding quality merchandise at a good price, and am happy to say that Home Decorators Collection has never disappointed me. I've not received an item that was damaged or not to my satisfaction. I'm sorry to hear that some have had problems, but I will remain a loyal Home Decorator's customer until they give me a reason not to be.

These people are a subsidiary of Home Depot. DON'T BUY ANTYING FROM THEM!!!!
If you have to return something, you have to shipp it back to them and can't return it to your local Home Depot store. You have to eat the shipping both ways and they send you a "merchandize credit" instead of refunding your money. RIP-OFF. |

I read the other comments about Home Decorators Collection and when we have ordered blinds whether in person or over the internet we have had problems which took a long time to resolve. However, when we ordered rugs from this company they came quickly (about a week) were the correct pattern and size. So I think that it makes a difference as to what items you order from this company. We even had a follow-up survey as to how they did. A few companies are do this type of PR now, since better than average service is needed now to earn repeat bussiness.

I read the negative reviews and was very hesitant about placing an order with this company. I had trouble finding the bench I wanted elsewhere, however, and decided to throw caution to the wind. I'm glad I did. I received my order in one week and was very pleased with the product. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones? Or maybe they, too, have taken notice of people's dissatisfaction and taken measures to correct their customer service.

Well, I fell in love with a rug at Home Decorators.com so I ordered it. It was defective and like a fool I sent it back and ordered a second rug. It is quite possible that this is the identical rug that I returned. I took pictures of the defects and was told I could return the rug and 3 weeks later I still have said rug, I'm still out $450 dollars, and I am still waiting to have this resolved. I will NEVER use this merchant again not will I recommend this site to anyone!!!!!

EVERY SINGLE TIME I'VE ORDERED FROM HOME DECORATORS HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE and I will NEVER shop there again! H.D. has some truly unique and beautiful items but the problem is that the website shows them as "in stock" when they actually are not in stock. They charge your credit card and THEN inform you that it will be weeks or months before your item will ship. Then, getting a refund is like pulling teeth ... a very painful experience. Don't waste your time or money shopping there.

Horrible. Please use caution (and not your debit card-this was a mistake I won't make again) when ordering. They over charged me by $300. It took three days and many hours of work to get that resolved. I called, they said it was taken care of only to find out it hadn't been. My bank was a great help in this. I wanted to just cancel my order. Stated they could not cancel my order, it was too late. Only to get an email canceling it two days later. Still working on getting my original money back. I was lied to by customer service a number of times. They have horrible reviews on the BBB. I wish I would have seen that prior to purchase. And now I know why from personal experience. I have no idea what their products are like, didn't get that far, but it doesn't seem worth the trouble.

I ordered a rug two months ago, only to have it arrive today, but the wrong size! After 4 emails and no help, Donna sent the last email, that said, pretty much, "Oh well, too bad, maybe we'll send the right one in a few months, and it basically sucks to be me!" Totally Customer-NO-SERVICE.

I ordered a large area rug. The ship date given was the week following the order date. When I did not get a shipment confirmation, I sent several emails to the company. I finally called customer service and was given a ship date over 4 months from the original ship date. I also received an email in response to my online inquiry which gave a ship date of only one month from the original ship date (lesson: call instead of using email if you want more accurate information about your order).
The worst part was my charge card was billed for the rug (>$500). Home Decorators stated that since this item was shipped directly from the vendor, they charge you immediately for the purchase, irrespective of when the item actually ships. Amazing!!! I do have to say that the person that cancelled my order was very understanding and gracious. I have not had problems with previous orders. That said, I will be more careful about future orders with Home Decorators Outlet. |

Home Decorators is just a 3rd party company who sells goods from whole salers. They have no control over shipments and, thus, have no control over anything. They are quick to take your money, but you will wait months to receive your goods. When you write/call and ask where your goods are at, they will always tell you it will be another month (always the vendor's fault) and offer you a $15 "next purchase" voucher (as if that will make everything better. Long story short... don't shop here.
