I placed an order for a handheld shower fixture. It was advertised at a price with free shipping. After I provided my method of payment and made my purchase, I received my confirmation which included a ~$9 "handling fee." I feel charging a hidden, extra fee after the transaction is closed is as close to fraud as you can get - I will not utilize this company again.

This is the worse company I have done business with online. I ordered a part for a leaking toilet. A week later I sent an email asking about the status. I received an email response saying there was a 2-3 week lead time, but if I wanted it sooner I could pay extra. I tried calling the company several times, but was on a "forever" hold - was never able to speak with anyone. I found the item at another company for less money who could ship the same day. I sent an email cancelling the order with HomeCenter and ordered from the other company. I got another email from HomeCenter a week later saying the item had been shipped. They totally ignored my cancellation even though I had sent a couple of emails, had received the part from the other company and had already installed it in my leaking toilet! Don't buy from this company.

TERRIBLE! No communication on order until I spent 45 minutes on hold and sent 3 emails. Still not sure will ever see merchandise. Never bothered to update delivery status; had one toilet and wouldn't ship until they had both - even though the delivery charge was the same whopping $125 for each one regardless of total order. Hopefully my new Toto toilets will arrive and I will never have to deal with them again. AVOID!

BEWARE OF CREDIT CARD FRAUD ON THIS WEBSITE!!!!!!!!
The pricing on homecenter.com was appealing and they came through with the product (many high-priced / high-end door knobs). HOWEVER, all of four of the credit cards I used at this website were the subject of CREDIT CARD FRAUD within a week of placing my order. There were charges to Netflix, USPS, FedEx, LaneBryant.com and even one to a credit reporting agency. I called the company to inform them they had a security breach, but did not receive a call back. I will be contacting the police regarding this activity and hopefully they will have some luck shutting down whomever is responsible. |

HORRIBLE. These people are crooks and should be avoided at all cost. I received a broken composite sink, called immediately to have it replaced. They (finally) picked it up (after a second call). Then they refused to send me a new one stating that I either had to pay a second time or wait up to 3 months for them to get reimbursed for the broken (returned) sink. Essentially, they refused to send me a new sink or refund me. I finally had to get my bank involved. I strongly suspect that these people are fraudulent.

Ordered a ceiling lamp from them in August. Their website showed the item in stock. My credit card was charged in full ( $464.18). After 1 week I got an email saying there would be another 2 weeks before it gets shipped, or to pay more to get it faster

I would not order from this website. I ordered a sink three weeks ago. No one got back to me to tell me it was on back order until I emailed them to ask where the shipment was. When I checked back about a week later I was told it had arrived and would ship the next day. When it did not arrive in a week, I emailed them again, only to find out it just shipped yesterday 10 days after they said it had already shipped. It will not arrive for another 5 days. We have been unable to have the countertops installed due to this delay which has in turn delayed the completion of our kitchen by a month. Pat in Colorado

HOMECENTER.COM IS ALL SMOKE AND MIRRORS! This company is a small shop that will scam you big time! When you view their website and call them up they sound big but they are not. Verify this company with the Better Bureau Business and you will see that they have a laundry list of complaints. Google their address and you will see that their headquarters is as big as a gas station. These guys are scam artists so becareful what you agree to. I know the economy is tough but i recommend that you go with a well established company that will stand behind their products and service. These guys will take your money and run.

I placed my order by phone, & the wait was long to speak with a customer representative. Other than that, the ordering process went smoothly. I ordered a Kohler Lustra Series Toilet Seat, which replaced a hard to find color (Country Gray from the 80's). HomeCenter.com had this item in stock & it was delivered in about 12 days. It was packed adequately, and the color was a perfect match. I would order from this company again.

This has to be the worst run web site ever. It is all smoke and mirrors. you place an order, the immediately charge your credit card, they do not have the products, they want you to pay more so they can buy off another web site for you. You say no and they give you lead times out a month. When you say to cancel the order, they refuse and will not give you a reason why.
I read the reviews and coul not believe it could possibly be as bad as everyone wrote ... it isn't .... it is worse. They try to hold you hostage and tell you to pick other items to see if they can get them sooner. It is unbelievable. Please save yourself headaches and do not do business with them |

TERRIBLE TO WORK WITH. In December ordered 2 toilet seats. Rec'd one, damaged, it was returned in Jan per their requirements. Still have not received credit. Was charged for a replacement. Received two seats, 1 was wrong color. Return was authorized, they still have not picked it up. Want to charge a re-stocking fee. Have to pay to restock an incorrect item??? As of today I have paid for 3 toilet seats, received one correct one. No response to numerous emails. Who can I report them to?

I have been trying since 3/26 to get a refund on iterms returned. At first Home Center would not give me an RGA and finally I got one , shipped it back via UPS with tracking number on 4/16 and still waiting. They have not answered any correspondence since then and I have not received the refund. Quite frustrating, and Elkay says to deal with them since they are the agent. I will not use them again.

Don't ever expect a refund from this company. One of the three Robern medicine cabinets I ordered on April 25, 2008 arrived smashed. The packaging had been damaged and the glass door of the cabinet broken. Each cabinet was $567.50 plus shipping costs. After a month of unanswered emails and calls, a pick up order was issued and the cabinet returned. Then the nightmare started! It has been almost a year and no refund. HomeCenter.com do not answer the customer service phone line. There is one number, 919.341.2887, and you can only leave a message. I have never been called back in a year of calling. I have been emailed a few times but all the promises have been fraudulent. For instance ,on 3/13/09 Christian Brown, the one and only customer service rep, claimed my account had been submitted to the credit department and it would take 24-48 hours to issue a credit. As of today April 16, 2009 no credit has been issued. This year long quest is all documented in emails.

Great service at a great price. I ordered a whole bunch of plumbing products including a sink, faucet, and kitchen accessories. Also ordered some cabinet hardware and lighting. Got everything quickly, except for 1 item which took an extra week. Was very happy. Saved a ton of money. Will shop here again. I was able to find everything I needed on the site too. The one complaint I have is that they don't sell microwaves and appliances. Wish they had those items too.

Purchasing was fine, but don't ever try to return anything - it'll never happen. Their return service is TERRIBLE. I have been trying since last summer to get credit for a return. Once in a blue moon you can talk to an actual person about it, but more often than not you get their voicemail and they don't return calls. Emails are ineffective as well. You e-mail 10 times, you're lucky to get 1 response. And the answer is always they'll check on it and it should be done in a few days, which for me now has been 7 months. Also, beware, they charge a 25% restocking fee for the "privilege" of returning their product. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any online company.

I ordered my Mico Shower faucet this past December online and was pleasantly surprised at how simple it is to use this site. I received my confirmation and recieved my item in about a week. When it was time to install, I realized that I had ordered the incorrect size for what was required. Immediately, I called Homecenter.com's customer service number and was told I could use the online return system to start the process. I did need a replacement but wasn't exactly sure of what I wanted. The customer service rep that helped me was very knowledgeable and helped me with getting exactly what I needed. I feel now that I have something much nicer than what I had initially purchased. This item was in stock and I received it in no time at all. I received the paperwork for my return and sent it back, and the amount was credited back to my charge. Prices here are fantastic and the selection is quite extensive. My next project is coming up this summer and I will be sure to revisit Homecenter.com's website for my future purchases. The entire process was definately a good one and I would recommond to everyone.

STOP !! Do not order from this place. I ordered fixtures for my bathroom and was surprised at what a good deal they were... Here's how it works. There website offers you a huge variety of products in any finish,style,etc. Then you place your order and someone contacts you to notify you that your items will be shipped in 3 weeks, and they charge your credit card immediately. Now they have your money and the 'wheels' slowly start moving in order to actually secure the items and eventually ship them to you - no guarantee they actually will ever arrive. They also charged an extra 14 % for shipping charges,, for the shipping of what ! Its been almost 4 months now.. I actually ended up getting what I needed at Homedepot and have already finished the renovations. Do yourself a favor and look past the low prices on the website. Whats your time and sanity worth ?
