I was buying a case of Dry Blue from Duravit. I bought it through underbid.com which had a different and slightly lower price than homeannex.com even though homeannex.com was behind the underbid.com sale.

Homeannex.com advertised "free shipping" but they still charge $7.95 for "processing" which is probably just shipping by another name. That's not my complaint, but it's a hint of the kind of relationship they have with their customer.

I bought the case for $42.88 with shipping for $50.83. I used paypal which charged my credit card. Subsequently, I got email from homeannex.com saying that they would not sell it to me at that price but that I had to pay $67.26 instead - almost 40% more, not an insignificant price adjustment.

Annoying, but they also say they'll match other prices on the web. I quoted some but they wouldn't honor that either. They are still advertising, as of this writing, the product on both underbid.com and homeannex.com at the prices I paid that they say they won't honor. Their customer service said I was not charged which was not true. I had to give them the Paypal reference number to get them to reimburse me when they continued to refuse to honor the sale.

It's a small and minor thing. It's only $16 but if they're not going to honor a sale, then they should not sit on my money but should reimburse me rather than force me to dig it out of them. They should also be more diligent about maintaining correct prices and adjusting them rather than suckering in customers only to jack the price up.

They have a lot of nice words on their website, but if you actually have to rely on their promises, they'll let you down.
