We put in our homedepot.com online order on 5/28/07 for a shower stall unit ( door and base ). Its now 6/07/07 and homedepot.com hasn't yet delivered the items, even though they said that the doors would be delivered on 6/07/07! The base unit hasn't even been shipped yet!! This has set back our home improvement project by 10 days (we even had to keep the contractor waiting for that long). We've finally come to our senses and cancelled the entire order. If you value your time, don't use homedepot.com.

I will never ever order anything again online from home depot.after being told(by one of home depots typically apathetic employees) that the item I wanted was not an instore item I ordered online.A couple of weeks after I received my order and paid almost $100.00 to have it shipped,I found the item instock at the local home depot.The store would not refund my shipping costs because the store and the online store are almost like not the same company!Home depot sucks but the online store REALLY SUCKS!

I researched dishwashers for several weeks. Finally decided on a GE carried by Home Depot. Paid cash, set up delivery (took a week because GE has to ship the dishwasher from a central location) and then took off work to be here during my 4 hour "window" of delivery. They removed my old dishwasher, brought the new one in, and it is dented on the door...as if someone put their foot in it. I have waited 15 years for a new dishwasher and I did not want a new one with a large dent in the door. Now, I have to wait another week or more, take another day off work, and go without ANY dishwasher for a week. Home Depot just shrugged "oh well"...Don't buy from them, they have no back up plan, they don't check appliances before they are delivered, and they won't expedite a delivery when the damaged appliance is their fault. I won't ever, EVER deal with them again.

I ordered a set of 3 baskets on line. It was simple enough; except for some web site reason I received 2 sets of the same baskets. The return process is horrible. I telephoned them and literally was on the phone for 45 minutes waiting for a rep. When I finally did get a rep it was a long process to process the return. They had to send UPS to pick up the item, I couldn't just mail it back. They eventually picked up the item. I then decided I didn't want the baskets anyway. I attempted twice to return them; waited this time about 35 minutes and they said they would issue a UPS order but they never came. I finally gave up and the baskets are still in the box sitting in my front hall. I guess I'll just sell them at a garage sale or something, its entirely too much trouble to try to return them

I have never been treated more poorly in my life. It was almost as though it was a contest who could be less helpful. I spoke with approximately 10 Home Depot employees over the course of a month trying to solve my problem with them and they consistently promised to help and then didn't. I think each and every one of them said they would help just to get rid of me and then tore up their notes and threw them away completely ignoring their promise. Unbelievable. I will NEVER shop there again!!!!!!

Home Depot definitely is convenient in terms of it's many locations and hours of operation. It's also likely that you can find what you need there. I have found exactly what I need 95% of the time and I have spent over $15,000 there in the last 5 years. The quality of the products found are pretty good for the most part, though the framing lumber is sometimes questionable. The prices are great too and there is always some type of sale or coupon available. The staff always seem to try to be VERY helpful, but it's obvious in the stores that I have been too that they are always understaffed. Sometimes I will wander around just looking for someone and if I find them, will they be an expert in what I am looking for? I can't stand waiting around for them to page someone who is on lunch who is the ONLY person available that knows about what I need help with. It seems a little ridiculous. I wish they would consider staffing their stores better as there are CONSTANTLY people in there that need serious guidance, whether it be simple of that of an expert.

Shopping and shipping were no problem, but when the wet dry vacuum filters were both defective, I got the runaround for a week, five stories from five different people. Customer Service is a joke. Today "Larry" claimed my Visa had been credited and I could destroy the defective items. I think I will hold on to them until my credit union confirms the credit!!

I recently bought a dishwasher at homedepot.com. One week after it was installed the priced had gone down $70, and the customer service folks in my local store refunded the entire amount! The install guys were great, the dishwasher works great, and they care about their customers.

Home Depot Online is truly awful in the way it is set up and run. We live in a rural area,and all residents here receive their regular mail by post office box. We do get regular deliveries to our home by Fed Ex and UPS daily. However, Home Depot will not ship to anyone that does not have an address with the United States Postal Service,meaning all persons that are required to receive mail by post office box may not order online, which eliminates thousands in our city alone. We order products from many companies, and Home Depot is the only one using this backward practice! We are building a new home here, and they are losing thousands of dollars in sales from us alone. Hard to believe such a HUGE company would not update their services.

Beware of Home Depot Installed Sales. I called & purchased a water heater with installation. The subcontracting company was completely incompetent but Home Depot refused to take responsibility for anything that happened. The installation should have been completed within hours of the purchase but 2 days later I had on the phone the manager of the store where the sub picked up the heater and the rep at the 800-number and they were arguing about who's responsibility it was to resolve the install issue while I listened. I wrote 2 letters to CEO Nardelli and never received any response from Home Depot.

Ordered 5 items from them and they said all qualified for free shipping. When I got the order confirmation, they had switched to Overnight shipping. I did NOT choose overnight. Called to cancel the next morning and it was too late even though I called at 7AM CST.
Then, only 1 item shipped overnight, the other 4 shipped ground. Still got charged for shipping even though the item said it qualified for free shipping. HD only offered a gift card for about 90% of the shipping charges. They refused to credit my HD card. March 7, 2007. Update. Never received the cards as promised. Found out today, they were never ordered. Also, HD online will not post negative reviews about their products, so keep that in mind when all you see are good reviews about their products. I have done a lot of online ordering and HomeDepot.Com is by far the worst experience. |

I am disgusted with your service protocol. We placed an order with Home Depot in August 2006. The order was not sent for several months and when we did receive it,it was the wrong dining set and the box was so damaged that the delivery guy encouraged us not to accept the order. The delivery was NEVER taken off the truck and we are still trying to receive credit for the return. We have spoke with customer service numerous times including on 11/14/06, 12/26/06, 1/06/07, and 1/28/07 - each time are informed that our account will be processed. This is truly an unacceptable way to do business. If we had remaining credit card payments on this order the interest we would have incurred would have been significant as the amount of the furniture was $628.95.

I found the product simply and for a great price with reasonable shipping and handling. So I ordered, 3 days later my order was delivered to the wrong address by UPS or by homedepot.com nobody seems to know which. I never recieved the product so I called customer service and they said they would not send a new one or issue a credit until the previous item is located! Why should I wait for homedepot.com or UPS mistake? Even after speaking to supervisors no one will issue a refund for this product. This is insane and unacceptable. My suggestion would be never to order from this online site again. I was able to recieve a refund from AMEX, thank you very much AMEX!

The 2 small items that I ordered arrived within the time frame quoted and were not damaged. My only complaint is that the shipper used cheap tape to seal the box. By the time I received it, the box was barely closed. Also, the individual items were not packed securely. Fortunately, they were both packaged well by the manufacturer.
Although I'm happy with my purchase, after reading so many horrendous reviews of Home Depot Online, I consider myself lucky and would probably not buy from them again. |

Worst store I ever did business with. Their gift policy redemption is short of highway robbery. Gift cards can only be used in their local store and if they don't have your item they will not honor gift cards on the internet although that is the only place you can locate the items you are looking at Home Depot. Would recommend that using Lowe's is far better and they do honor gift cards on internet purchases.

Never order anything on-line through Home Depot. If an item needs to be returned you will speak to many different customer service reps. telling you the same song and dance. I am in serious consideration of filing a lawsuit due to time loss and aggravation, and being lied to. I have yet been able to speak to anyone higher than a shift supervisor. The call center and warehouse communicate via e-mail ONLY. I was told that they do not have phone numbers to call each other. The returned Item I returned was a barstool. The warehouse received it on 11/14/06. It is now 1/16/07, and I still do not have a refund. They keep our money and draw interest. Is this legal?

Ordered one $800 dresser on 8/1/06, they charged me three times for the same item. I called to dispute and they said to wait until they have shipped and then I will have to refuse the items. Meanwhile, all charges were posted on my home depot credit card. It is 01/10/2007 and I STILL have not received reimbursement. They actually charged me again on 10/11/2006, which they have no record of!! Customer Service reps are terrible, they claim to not have an investigations department and are placing blame on the 'warehouse' scanner for charging me too many times!!! DO NOT ORDER from their online store, there are better deals elsewhere! I am boycotting home depot altogether... Lowes has way better in-store service anyway! Lowes, you can contact me at anytime to lobby against your competitor!!

Where do I begin. First let's start with the fact that we spent over 9 thousand dollars on a order which took 1 month to arrive. One of the items on my order was a T.V. When it arrived it was raining and I was quick to put in my house without inspecting it. As I removed the T.V. I noticed there was a hole in the back of it that looked like a fork lift hit it. I called customer support within 30 minutes. To make a long story short it has been over 2 months and the only contact I have had with them is only when I call. 2 months no T.V. replaced and the old one is sitting in my garage. Worst customer service I have ever seen, heard in my life. I spent today alone 2 hours on the phone and it's still the same old song and dance ( We will be picking up this TV soon) Ya right I will believe it when I see it. I recently ordered a furnace filter from Home Depot's online store. The website said "This item usually arrives in 5-7 business days." It is now ONE MONTH LATER and I have received nothing. There was an order confirmation sent to my email almost immediately which stated that a shipping confirmation would follow, but one never did.
I tried to contact their customer service for an update using the online email contact they gave. It has since been a week and I've heard nothing. At this exact moment I've been sitting on hold listening to their customer service PHONE loop for over AN HOUR. If I get to the end of my chores and still haven't spoken to a living being I am going to cancel my order and go to the Lowes website. This is outrageously bad customer service. I had no idea that Home Depot was this unresponsive. I've been going out of my way to give them my business as I live right down the block from a Lowes. I am extremely disappointed with Home Depot. They have lost me as a customer. |

We bought an expensive door at Home Depot and paid for installation just last year. The installation was faulty and the door had to be replaced. Home Depot was totally unhelpful though the door manufacturer agreed to replace the door. Home Depot will not refund any portion of the installation and wants to charge us another $130+ to install it. We have attempted to talk to the dept manager and store manager on several occasions but they diss us, and will not return any telephone calls. They appear to be running the store on reduced staff and customer service is non-existent. We are reluctantly filing a small claims against them because we have exhausted any other option.

I purchased a patio set and a chaise lounge from homedepot.com, the lounge was lost, and the patio set was delivered damaged 2-1/2 months ago, they still have not mailed me the necessary label so I can return the item. I not only had to pay for a damaged set to avoid finance charges, I am storing their damaged furniture in my garage while my vehicle sits on the street with winter time approaching. Every time I call, over a dozen times now, they assure me that the return label will be mailed to me and will take 7-10 business days, like I said it is over 2-1/2 months now. I do not understand how homedepot.com can still operate when I have read tons of reviews with the same complaint as mine!!

Customer service wanted to return it to the buyer and then have me ask the buyer to REBUY it. TACKY. I took the rest of my registry down. Needless to say, never use homedepot.com!!!

Order cushions for loveseat around first of Oct. Was given a delivery date of approximately Oct. 26th. Hopefully this will be delivered on time.

Never again! The product was defective. Calling them is lengthy. They said they would UPS will call it in 3-7 business days. I called in two weeks because that didn't happen. I called again and finally a month later, UPS arrived. Three weeks later, my back account was credited with the original cost of the product, minus shipping costs.
