A nightmare

I ordered a rug from homedepot.com and it was the first and last time I will order from their online web site. The rug arrived damaged so I needed to return it. The return procedure was a complete nightmare. The customer service person on the phone was not only rude, but obviously inexperienced. I was told to put the rug in its original packaging (which I did) and then to expect a phone call from UPS to notify me when the item would be picked up at my door. A week later, I still hadn't received a phone call from UPS so I again called homedepot.com. Again, I spoke with an inexperienced and rude customer service representative, who said, "I don't see your request here for a return here in our system." So I had to AGAIN give all of my information and I was again told the same thing... a UPS rep would contact me. Two days later, I arrived home from work to find a yellow note from UPS on my door saying they were sorry they missed me and had come to pick up my order. I immediately called homedepot.com back and asked why I never received a call letting me know the item was going to be picked up that day by UPS. Home Depot blamed UPS, and UPS blamed Home Depot. The Home Depot rep then told me everything would be fixed, and I was told to leave the rug on my front step the following morning because a UPS carrier would be coming the next day to pick it up. I left the rug on my front step the following morning as requested... and came home that day to find it still sitting there. I called Home Depot again, and got the same story. I left the rug on the front step the following day... and again the same result. After weeks of additional headaches and getting the runaround from Home Depot, I just left the rug outside every day and a few weeks later, I received a note saying that the rug had been picked up by UPS. I got a credit on my account from Home Depot approximately TWO MONTHS after this whole fiasco began. It was a nightmare and I will never purchase anything online from Home Depot again.
