I Bought three bar stools from Hayneedle. The stools were of OK quality but they were too low so I returned them. When I purhcased the stools I charged then to a credit card but when I returned them they wouldn't credit my card but insisted on mailing me a check. I didn't get the check
for 6 weeks from when I returned the stools. They said they couldn't credit my card. I'm a retailer myself and there is NO reason why they couldn't credit my card. Totally BOGUS!! It was just an excuse for them to keep my money as long as possible after they got the merchandise back. |

Very bad and frustrating experience. Item received was different color from what was pictured on their website. Customer service rep very professional and said we could return it but we had destroyed the packing materials to get the desk out. We accepted his offer of a $50.00 credit which after almost two weeks, we have not yet seen credited back to our account. I wrote a review on their site several days ago telling about wrong color and it has not yet appeared on the product page. The rep could offer no explanation for the color discrepancy (toffee color pictured, dark walnut color received). Based on this experience we will not ever order from Hayneedle.com.

I bought a Hudson Wood Garden Bench and it shipped super fast. The shipping was free which was a big selling point. The bench looked great minus the 4 large cracks coming off of the front board where the screws had been tightened too tight.

I bought a Fairfield house kit: the directions said it would take about 10 hours to put together. What a shock when I got the kit: hundreds of little tiny pieces, MANY do not fit properly, many have to be sanded and cut/adjusted....this is no ten hour job. I am so disgusted: Hay eeded couldn't care less that I am disappointed with the product.
My partner is a cabinet maker and is putting it together so he is no novice on building or putting things together. This will not be ready by Christmas for sure but the worst part is that many pieces are not well made: I echo what others have said that if I"d wanted a Wal mart product I"ve had bought it at Wal mart. Still working on it. |

Absolutely worst online experience I have had in a long time. Customer service is terrible. Long story short, they keep telling me week after week my item is shipped and on the way. Turns out item was not on the way. When they finally give me a tracking number the item is weeks late and they tell me they shipped it economy which would take another 7 business days. I never receieved the item -- they blamed the shipper. Terrible company and bad experience. Don't use them trust me.

I bought 2 XL Igloo dog houses through Hayneedle. I was told at the time of order that my dog houses would be shipped on December 3rd and the dog heaters would be shipped on that next Monday Dec. 5th. On Tuesday Dec. 6th, I phoned Hayneedle to ask when they planned to ship my dog houses and heaters. They told me that they were on the Fed Ex truck and would be delivered Wed., Dec. 7th. Today I received 1 Doghouse and 2 Heaters. I phoned the company again and was told that they are going to deliver the other dog house tomorrow on the 8th. This was my first experience with Hayneedle and probably the last.
I had company coming for the weekend to my home. We'd just moved in and I didn't want our company to be bothered with the dogs. This is why I ordered online in order to have them before the weekend and to have them delivered to my home. If I'd known that I was not going to receive them on the promised day I could have gone to a store and picked them up myself. |

Update 12/1/11. Received bench. Missing bolts and washers to put together. Called American Drew - absolutely NO help. Called Hayneedle. They had me go to local hardware store and gave me a refund plus a little extra. Hayneedle also ran a Cyber Monday special with 15% off. I called to see if I could get the discount applied to my order. They did and it saved me over $40!. Very happy customer.
I ordered an American Drew bed bench for the end of my new American Drew bed. Woman who took my order was very nice. My only issue was that they would give me a 5% on the more expensive $600+ bed bench but not on the $275+ bed bench. Able to track order and turned over to Home Direct quickly. |

Perhaps I was lucky after reading many negative reviews, but my purchase and experience with Hayneedle.com was nothing but positive. I ordered two stackable shelving units for my son's room. Comparable units at other big name kid's stores are 3-4 times as expensive. The items were extremely well-priced, they arrived VERY fast (ordered on a Sunday night, arrived by Wednesday with free shipping), was packed well (no damage) and the product itself is fantastic. Very nice quality for put-it-together-yourself furniture. The units are heavy duty, with a very nice honey finish and look much more expensive. Assembly was easy if you're used to putting together basic furniture that uses metal pins and cam locks. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would definitely order from them again.

Totally incompetent. I ordered a car seat for my daughter, in pink. They sent a red booster seat that cost $90 less. I called and arranged an exchange, during which time I had to carry the charge on my credit card X2 until the full return completed. The person I spoke with said he'd make a clear note that I wanted the pink car seat. Second order arrives and ... red booster seat, again. I call and they just say "sorry, we don't have the one you want in stock." I'm sorry, but it's not just a matter of color -- they sent the wrong product altogether, something for a larger child. I can accept the mistake once, not twice. Now I'm massively inconvenienced, have to deal with another return AND go find a car seat right away locally -- all while I could have just ordered it from a reputable site, even the second time, and have the seat I want right now. Please, don't make my mistake!

We bought 2 wooden rocking chairs from Hayneedle. The chairs were fine except for some minor flaws. We wanted to return the chairs and get a replacement. Instead, Hayneedle immediately refunded our entire porchase price and told us to keep the chairs and donate them to charity!

I recently ordered a few items for our new baby from Hayneedle, main one being a crib that we could not find in Canada. Of course AFTER I ordered everything, I came across all these negative reviews. I was all of a sudden scared to have placed the order, even if it was a good deal, and seriously thought about cancelling it but decided to take a chance. WOW am I glad I did! Hayneedle delivered exactly what I ordered, completely intact and undamaged, and super fast! Even with an oversized item that weighed over 100lbs everything arrived in 4 days from the time of ordering and I got free shipping to boot! I would NOT hesitate to order from them again. Great experience!

I'm actually very surprised by all the negative reviews. To be honest, I was very nervous and hesitant to use these guys after reading all the comments.
I have to say, I'm very happy! Shipping was very fast. They provided me a tracking link with their shipper, which was updated frequently. Because of this, I wasn't on pins and needles wondering if my order would really come. I saved $50 on my weber grill (I bought it through grillsdirect.com, which is owned by hayneedle.com)...and it came fast...and in great condition. No issues with my order! I'd use these guys again! |

My letter to them:
Dear ______, We have had an amazing odyssey of mistaken orders and orders that have arrived damaged with your company. We would like to be put out of our misery once and for all and put an end to our association with Hayneedle. We ordered a medicine cabinet back in May and received a Japanese screen first, then a bed, and finally a month after it was supposed to arrive the actual medicine cabinet which was damaged. We ultimately cancelled the order and the cabinet was picked up about 2-3 weeks ago. We were told once this occurred, you would refund the amount for the cabinet. Add 3 weeks to the process which ultimately started in May. It is now almost August and we have yet to receive our $ 699.00 refund. UPDATE: Aug 3, still no refund. |

Horrible service. I ordered a hammock stand from Hayneedle. The hammock arrived in a previously opened box, and was (surprise!) missing several pieces. Customer service explained to me that these missing items were "out of stock" and so could not be provided. I am returning my item. Other reviews indicate that getting my account credited may be a problem. Wish I had read the reviews here before getting into this mess.

I ordered three counter stools. My bank account was debited for all three via PayPal. Today, Hayneedle.com sent me a number of e-mails. One said they shipped ONE stool FedEx. Another said the other stools would not be sent as they have been discontinued.
Bait....then switch. And they still have my money for all three stools. Pathetic way of doing business. avoid like the plague. |

I ordered a B'day gift hor my husband on 4/2/11. The E-mail confirmation estimated 4/6 as arrival date. On 4/8 I checked the order status on-line and found that it was still being processed. I called customer service to find out when it would actually be shipping. After being on hold for a while I was told that the item was on back order until July! The manufacturer was in the process of cancelling my order. I asked why I hadn't reieved an e-mail (sometime before it was supposed to arrive Maybe?). She said they had "know way of knowing about the order until the customer calls about it"! REALLY? OK...... So, I don't think I'll be using hayneedle in the future.

I didn't researceh well enough before ordering from Hayneedle. The item I ordered showed "available" and would be delivered on Tuesday March 15th. I checked the order status on the 13th and noticed it was listed as "backordered". I called to inquire and explained this was for my daughter's birthday and I may just need to cancel the order. I was told by Bethany it should still be delivered on the 15th. Instead of cancelling the order then, I believed her and waited until the 15th only to realize it was still on backorder. I cancelled on the 15th and ordered from a reputable company and paid extra for rush delivery. Needlees to say, I will no longer do business with Hayneedle.

I just had a very bad experience with Hayneedle. I was told when I ordered a reclining chair from them that if I found a cheaper price they would match the price. Shortly after I placed the order I found a cheaper price and it included the "white glove" delivery. I called them and was told that I could have the cheaper price or the "white glove" delivery but not both. I elected to take the cheaper price. I subsaquently found that Hayneedle had lowered their price to the price I had actually paid and were offering an additional promotion code for 10% off that price. When I called them, on the day that the chair was to arrive, I was informed that I had received 10% off of the $599.99 and could not have the 10% discount of the $498.99 price they were presently offering because I had already received 10% off the $599,99 and they don't honor multiple discounts. I plan to order another chair but it won't be from Hayneedle.

Ordered a gift identified as "In Stock" a couple weeks before Christmas. Days before Christmas, received an email stating the deliver date was delayed and wouldn't arrive until 12/27; on 12/27 I received an email stating item delayed and wouldn't arrive until 1/18. on 1/17 I got a very simple email: Your Order Has Been Cancelled. No items in stock. So almost a MONTH after the holiday, I had to inform my recipient that the gift they had patiently waited for, they would not be getting. Contacted Hayneedle.com customer service; the only response I received was an automated response that I would recieve a response, which I never did. Terrible, unreliable company.

I had a horrible experience with Hayneedle. The quality of the product I ordered turned out to be very bad. This surprised me because it had gotten really good reviews.
I decided to write a truthful review. It never showed up on the site. I wrote another review just incase there was a problem with the first. Nothing. I contacted customer service and received an insulting email in return saying that my review probably was not gramatically correct. They are obviously not representing their products honestly. |

In-stock item has still not shipped in over a month. Customer service rep. said it was a supplier warehouse issue and that she would call back with a solution...no phone back in over a week.
This was a gift intended for delivery before Thanksgiving. The last delayed deliver email stated it would not ship until after Christmas. Item still shows to be in stock on the website. |

I ordered 4 barstools from Hayneedle. I could write a very long saga here, but the short version is that they ended up trying to send me the bar stools 4 times. Of the 16 bar stools they shipped, only one was the right color, and undamaged. One out of 16. The amount of tme spent on the phone with Hayneedle, and time spent waiting for FedEx to deliver FOUR times, was rediculous. The customer care people were polite, and apologetic, but frankly, utterly feckless. They could not get any of the problems addressed. They offered to try to send me a 5th shipment (up to 20 bar stools!) but I refused, believing that actually they are not capable of fixing simple problems. It made me realise how good other online stores are -- these guys are simply incapable of fixing any problem "outside of the box". Avoid these guys, unless you're buying something cheap, and simple. Any thing heavy and with moving parts, don't do it!!

After heavy shopping and a comparison between other internet malls, I ordered binoculars on cyber monday November 29 2010. I was informed by them that it will be delivered December 20 2010 or prior to that. I was very happy and surprised to got them already delivered today (12/7). The good was as promised, the cheapest price, good wrapping, no damage. Totally satisfied!

I have not received my order. Tracking for the past week says it is in processing. Original estimated delivery date was 11/30. Now it says 11/30 - 12/2. That isn't going to happen since it is now 11/30 and it will ship Fed Ex Ground. It would be nice to be told in the beginning the real dates of when it will ship.

I would have appreciated more information about the product on the website. Specifically, I could not tell if the opera glasses were fixed focus or not--the information was missing or misleading--and I thought they were German-made, not Chinese. More product info, please! A real plus was the number of choices, however, and the quick shipping for which I paid extra.
