Ive sent many cards from Hallmark and from many sites including Yahoo but today was the first time I sent an
e-card from Hallmark with a gift card attached to it. It was wonderful, easy, fast and my daughter appreciated it.
Youll find the e-card link on the left on the www.hallmark.com page. Just click on e-card and cards and it will take you immediately to a page where you can find flowers as well as cards you will have to pay for. Make sure you click free e-cards!
I find the free cards to be excellent and the selection very good. Ive been impressed when Ive gotten one from the site because they are a bit different and more unusual than at Yahoo, for example.
The link to browse e-card will load immediately and youll see cards that are featured for holidays or just featured cards. On the left you will find a nice list of topics including upcoming holidays, milestones and Hallmark exclusives. An exclusive are Maya Angelou cards. That was one of the two I sent my daughter today. You can choose what day you want it sent- up to one year in advance.
You can send a card to up to 50 people if you want. After you have chosen the card you can personalize it. One difference between Hallmark and Yahoo is that you dont get a choice of colors or fonts, which I like.
You then check a box if you would like to send a gift wish certificate or not. I chose to and had a
choice of how much to send from $10.00 to $100 in various increments.
If you click on how it works youll see a couple of cute characters explaining how it works and that it can be used for about 300 stores online.
If you are a member of
MyPoints you will earn points for every dollar you spend at Hallmark. I checked to make sure some of her favorite stores were listed and they were. Youll find stores such as Borders, Bath and Body Works and Target.
After I sent it, my daughter got an e-mail with instructions for viewing her card and exchanging her Gift Wish for merchant gift certificates. They will mail her the merchant gift certificate she selects.
I got a confirmation that my card request was received (Asking for a confirmation that it was read is an option.), a confirmation that the gift certificate request was received, one that it was sent and one that it was read all within an hour. It was great.
Check out was a snap.
They accept all major credit cards. Note- there is a 99-cent fee for this service. I was more than happy to pay for a great card with an easy to order gift certificate.
Final thoughts:
I almost exclusively send e-cards from Hallmark, although
I would like to see the personalization available in colors and fonts. Other than that, the pages are simple to understand, there are a lot of really nice cards from which to choose, the recipient gets it when you ask and the option of a gift certificate is terrific.
