POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HSN. We have purchased several items from HSN over the past ten years, but after our last experience, we WILL NOT SHOP WITH THEM AGAIN. We ordered a treadmill from them and have yet to see it. Their excuse is that because it is a heavy item, scheduling has to be coordinated with a shipping company. Having ordered many "heavy items" with various companies in the past, we understood this statement AT FIRST......However, as the days keep going by, how long does it take an established company in 2009 to get their butt in gear? The treadmill may be heavy and come in a thick long box, but it is no where near the size of swing sets, playground equipment, large household appliances, etc., ALL OF WHICH WE HAVE HAD DELIVERED IN A MUCH MORE TIMELY MANNER by a variety of small and large companies. Our order STILL SHOWS PROCESSING, yet CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS THEY CAN'T CANCEL THE ORDER BECAUSE IT IS BEING SHIPPED OUT. We were told that once it is received, we would have to ship it back to them AT OUR EXPENSE and then they would credit our bank account. Excuse me, but if the order is still showing that it is STILL being processed, it hasn't shipped out yet, then WHAT THE HECK IS THEIR PROBLEM IN cancelling the order now? They are suppose to be a well established company and THIS IS 2009 people....It isn't like it is a fairly new company that are still getting their ducks in a row.....HSN has been around long enough to provide better service than that.
We realize that this may sound petty to others, and that we are being unrealistic, but it is COMMON SENSE to us that IF THEY KEEP TELLING US THE ITEM HASN'T SHIPPED, WHY CAN'T THEY CANCEL THE ORDER NOW, BEFORE IT IS SHIPPED, INSTEAD OF KEEP SAYING THAT THEY ARE COORDINATING SHIPPING SERVICES?????
I worked in shipping/receiving twenty years ago and can understand when companies are having trouble, but come on......HSN has been around for years, there are hundreds of shipping companies, and technology in 2009 should be efficient enough for them to PICK UP A PHONE, TRACK AN ORDER, AND GET THEIR BUTTS IN GEAR.......
DUE TO POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, OR LACK THERE OF, WE WILL BE GOING ELSEWHERE FOR OUR FUTURE PURCHASES.
