Although I've received the MP3 player that I ordered it does not work and I have to submit a RMA to have the unit replaced. Too bad they do not reimburse you for the shipping cost. You have to pay to receive and pay again to return. I think that when you have to submit a RMA you should be reimbursed for your shipping cost.

In the past several months I have purchased numerous items from Geeks.com and all products sold as "new" were satisfactory. "Refurbished" products were unsatisfactory on several items. Of five LG DVD-VCR recorders, 3 are defective. A Haier brand portable CD, DVD player is JUNK. This one is a replacement by Geeks for the first one that was JUNK. After the cost of packaging and returning the first one with the replacement being as worthless as the first I did not bother returning it. $118.00 big paper weight. On the good side Geeks do a great job of expediting the filling and shipping of orders and the prices are reasonable. Therefor I will continue as their customer. Rogr1davis@aol.com

Great merchant with great prices. Geeks.com has become a gold standard for me lately. This is in part because i know they can undercut any other online computer retailer, sometimes by up to %50.
The downside is the shipping. Most of the time i qualify for free shipping which is great. But, they are in California and I'm in New York which makes for crappy ground shipping times. But then again - who can complain about free.

I usually have not trouble shopping at Geeks.com-but there is a problem when something is shipped to you incomplete and you cannot contact anyone-I sent an email finally and am waiting for a response. The GPS was supposedly brand new but was missing many items and the manual was all in chinese. I am sure it was the company that they received the merchandise from that was at fault but I need an answer and I need to missing parts to use the GPS.
So usually I am happy with Geeks-been buying for many years but this time I am not happy with what was shipped nor with getting a response. Used to get a quick response-seems like
they must be contracting out and that is making the difference

The item was in good physical condition but has one major functional problem, it will not maintain the correct time of day. That problem (shifting forward about 5 hours over a 24 hour period) makes any "timed recording", impossible. I was given a RMA# and have shipped it back. Now, I have had to pay for that shipping plus re-packaging. The original box was in no condition to do battle, again, with the, "Dedicated and Caring" employees" of UPS or FedEx. If the replacement unit works correctly, I'll be satisfied. As the problem did not manifest itself until the unit was on for several hours, it would not have been evident in an hour or so of testing. I will probably use Geeks again if the replacement is good.

Geeks.com has always been a good shopping experience with informative merchandise pages and intuitive ordering pages. However, I did have a bad experience not because of Geeks.com but because they allowed a new poorly designed Visa security applet to approve my card. It did not, and promptly put my card on hold, deeming the purchase suspicious. I was not notified of this by Visa. I tried another Visa card from a different bank and still no success. I finally tried Pay Pal, secured by my first card, and the purchase was accepted. Visa was the culprit here, not Geeks.com.

The first two products purchased were good. But the D link router wasn't good. The problem is not from Computer Geeks, but from D link itself. They are selling the DIR-625 under the pretext that it has shareport utility, which allows you to share usb devices on your network. After receiving my product, I went online to find out if I could upgrade the firmware to enable the shareport utility and to my surprise the Revision A1 which is what I was sold does not support it. I contacted Dlink and they said shareport is not supported by the Revision A1 of DIR-625 so I am high ly disappointed that they are selling a product under false pretext. it would be more responsible for Dlink to let the people know that the Revision A1 of DIR-625 is not compatible with shareport. I contacted Computer Geeks and they have been helpful, I will be refunded my money back.

A day or so after I received my computer I got an email from a company "free shiiping.com". It "appeared" they were affiliated in someway with Geeks and they offered a $15 rebate on my shipping costs. They said I was qualified to revieve it. I signed up and then realized afterwards that it was not the same company and the rebate for shipping required a one year membership with a fee involved. The email was misleading. I cancelled the order with free shipping.com. It would seem to me that the ethical thing to do would be to make it very clear that they were not affiliated with Geeks and it was a paid service.

Bought a refurbished turntable and it turned out to be defective. Contacted Geeks.com and was given an RMA number to return the unit and I paid for returned shipping. When I called Geeks I was given credit for the return shipping cost. They did not have a replacement unit so they gave me credit but just for the unit itself. I called to inquire about the initial shipping costs and I was told that it was not refundable even though the unit was defective.
