I have been wearing organic cotton yoga pants and tees from Gaiam for the past few years. My orders tend to arrive within two weeks, and I am always happy with the fit and style. I haven't had to make any returns.

Recently bought a DVD kit ads as 8 Pieces, however, after I received product only 3 pieces received; and this is what customer support Gaiam.com

Here's another slant on a fraud:
I purchased a Gaiam yoga/pilates mat from Barnes & Nobel. the difference between the 2 I had a choice from was a promotional offer from Gaiam for a FREE VIDEO DOWNLOAD. So I decided upon and paid for the Gaiam. A Dot Whack announces this and refers the consumer to the package for details where it says "VISIT WWW.GAIAM.COM/FREEYOGAWORKOUT to receive your free workout video". SURPRISE! 4 weeks ago their download wasn't working. Still isn't working. Every email to them has the same reply-- The download is not working properly. Until this can be resolved a video stream of the DVD has been provided. This is even the reply they give to a demand for a dvd to be sent in the mail. The only difference now is that they change the link to redirect to the video stream. I bet loads of people will think they misunderstood the offer! GAIAM is pulling off a consumer FRAUD |

Customer service is terrible. I emailed over and over again without any response regarding the whereabouts of my online purchase. Finally heard back and was assured I would receive my in purchase in 7-10 business days. This was 1 month after the purchase date when I was supposed to get the product in 7-10 business days. I wrote again in 10 days saying I still hadn't received the product and said I would never use them again. Customer service then proceeded to cancel my order! Will never use again.

Terrible service. The item I ordered was supposed to be delivered in 6-11 days from the day I ordered. When I heard nothing after a week, I sent an email to Gaiam. No response. I sent a second email and finally got a response two days later saying they "shipped today" (7 days after the order was placed) but all they did was send info to the Fed-Ex website. So I called. But they were closed, even though I called during their posted customer service hours. I will NEVER do business with them again. I guess you could say they are eco-friendly-since they don't fulfill their orders they don't introduce any packing material (or products, for that matter) into the commerce stream. Shop any where else.

NEVER AGAIN. Ordered 10 days ago; I have been assured by customer service everyday for the past 5 working days that it was in the warehouse and about to ship; it will clearly not be here in time for Christmas, despite their guarantee. No one can tell me what is holding up my order or when it might ship. I was told I could pay more to have it shipped faster, but they would have to cancel the current shipping order in the warehouse (apparently sending it to the back of the queue) and could not guarantee therefore that paying more would get it anywhere sooner. NEVER AGAIN.

I have placed orders with Gaiam in the past and always had satisfactory service. Unfortunately, things have now changed drastically! I placed an online order on Nov. 12, today is Nov. 22 and I can't get any answer from customer service about the status of my order. My online account lists the order and only says "ordered" next to to each item. I ordered six items, I only received one on Tuesday with absolutely no explanation. I have sent a total of five emails to customer service and received no response. Today, I decided to check them out on the Better Business Bureau website (www.bbb.org) and found out that they have "had the membership revoked on September 28, 2007, due to an affilation with a company which has an unsatisfactory report with the BBB." There are also multiple complaints listed against Gaiam on the BBB website. I wish I had checked it first. This is particularly troubling for me because I enthusiastically support the "lifestyle" that Gaiam promotes, and their business practices obviously don't fit in with that philosophy. What a disappointment.

First off, if you live in Canada, you can't order Online, you must phone them. And once you do phone them, they're not that very happy speaking to you. Rather unfriendly bunch. Finally, when you've placed your order, you wait two weeks to be told they've only shipped your goods yesterday and it takes 10 to 15 business days. After waiting all that time, you don't receive your shipment only to find out that it's never gone out. To make things worse, they debit your credit card for products you will never receive. Don't buy from Gaiam.com, it's a scam! Worst Online service experienced to date.

I ordered a wool and silk comforter for my kids bedroom and I was very disappointed. The quality was very poor and filling was coming out of their comforter. The cover is 220 threads and not good enough to hold the filling inside only.I had to vacuum a lot of hair from my house. I returned the comforter but I lost the shipping charges. Product specialists are hard to get hold off and the web site lacks customer reviews. Their customer service was not as bad as other people experienced. I would order from them only after you are sure that you like the product or risk the shipping charges that you loose if you return the product. Delivery was on time. Too bad that they don't have better products. I would be a repeated customer for many of their items but after this experience I hesitate to risk my money again.

Should have checked Epinions first, as this is a recurring theme for Gaiam reviews. Don't shop here, many other options with good service and with those who stand behind their offerings!

Terrible, terrible customer service. After I received a damaged item, I had to contact customer service more than 5 times--each time repeating my story and requesting a response more firmly--before I finally received a call back from the person apparently in charge of returns. Several times I was promised both follow up and compensation for the difficulty, none of which ever materialized. I eventually contacted the vendor of the damaged item directly and was told that no one from Gaiam had ever contacted them.
According to this merchant's website, customer service can be reached 24 hours, but I found this not to be the case. After 6pm central, it goes to an answering service which does not have access to customer data and cannot provide assistance of ANY kind. It should be said, too, that the item I purchased was expensive (several hundred dollars)--I would have expected more of a response with such a purchase on the line! |

Caveat Emptor! Or make sure you order by credit card. I ordered by mail (via check) and it took about three weeks to get my order (and it was not on back order). The item didn't fit so I sent it back for an exchange using the return label. At this point in time, Gaiam has no record of receiving it and the package has not been returned to me. So I'm out nearly $50.00 bucks!

I am not super impressed with this website. I ordered something & never received an e-mailed notice of my order. A week later I e-mailed them because I hadn't received any shipping confirmation. They had some odd number on their website, which was not a tracking number. It took 2 weeks to receive my order. Every other website manages to provide you with a correct tracking number, I'm not sure why Gaiam can't seem to do that as well. If you're in a hurry, be sure to pay extra for the shipping, cuz you never know when it will show up.

I recently ordered two items from the Gaiam.com store - a yoga mat/bag and a collection of meditation CDs. I was quite impressed with the speed in which I received my order. I choose the slowest method of shipment and still received my order in a week. I was also impressed that the items were packaged in a recycled box with Eco-friendly packing material. As a consumer I am concerned with these environmental issues. I found this company a pleasure to deal with. The yoga mat and bag are superb and perfect to take to my weekly yoga class. In addition, I have begun using the meditation CDs daily. I should note that bot of these items were on sale. I got the yoga mat/bag for $11 and a collection of 8 CDs for $17! If you are looking for products for your healthy lifestyle from a company that believes in organic renewable resources this is the website to shop.

I was extremely unhappy with their customer service. I placed an order, and received no confirmation whatsoever that the order had been accepted. Five days later, they debited my account, so I assumed my order had been placed correctly. After waiting 3 weeks for it to arrive, I called customer service only to be told that the Post Office was returning it due to the Zip Code being incorrect. I was told to go ahead and place the order again, but had to pay shipping charges. I did this, only to receive the first order 2 days later. When I called customer service, I was informed that this was not their problem, but mine, and that I would be responsible to return the order myself at my own cost.

A great place to shop! Like a breath of fresh air in an otherwise overly commercial world.
Unlike other mail order companies, Gaiam seems to care about its customers and also the larger world. All of the products they carry are thoughtfully chosen to be of good quality and also eco-friendly. I purchased a wooden drying rack and was impressed with the overall quality and construction. It is a nice size and built to last, not flimsy. The price was perhaps a bit more, but I will be using this item for years to come. I ordered this item on a Thursday and it arrived by the middle of the next week, which is fast by my estimation. I live in a rural area and shipping is usually much slower. It was packaged well, arriving in perfect condition. No extra packaging was used, which is important to me. I liked the website design also, very easy to navigate and find items I was looking for. Excellent descriptions of items and a friendly/earthy feel overall. I will definitely shop with Gaiam again. |
