Seems to offer good product, need better package for glass, easy & prompt refund

After spending days researching for a laptop table, I found this beautiful glass one on Frontgate. The shipping was prompt but one of the glass tops was completely shattered on arrival. So I called for a return.
The customer service representative was professional. She asked if I wanted a replacement and I said no because given the way they packaged it, there is no way it would NOT be broken in transit. Even though she said she had no problem shipping that in the past, she still promptly proceeded to refund me completely and send me the return shipping label. They didn't pay for pickup in residential address though. Fortunately, I had something else delivered by UPS the next day and the guy picked this up at the same time. The refund was deposited back into my credit card after a few days. It was a very painless return. It was a really beautiful laptop table and I cannot find a similar product anywhere else. Too bad the packaging sucked. I would buy from Frontgate again, but only products that cannot be easily broken. |

First order had damaged item and one item missing. Charged my credit card for replacement until return of defective item (which seemed fair), and promised to send the missing 2nd item.
But they never sent the second item, and after 3 repeat calls, they never sent the promised pre-paid shipping label for the return of defective item. I just gave up from frustration. Horrible initial delivery (defective and missing items); horrible follow-through on promises by customer service. The only good thing to say was the customer service people were very polite and friendly on the phone when I actually got to speak to them. But that means nothing because they did not deliver what was promised. |

I rejected two attempts on the part of Frontgate to deliver damaged goods and now having trouble getting a refund.
My most recent experience has been so awful, and the condition of the product was so awful, I asked to be removed from their mailing list. I don't trust the quality, or excellence statement they make. I was very clear I would not accept another damaged, rejected/return product, but after two attempts of pawned-off crap, they have lost us as a customer. This store is no better than OverStock.com |

We purchased a Christmas tree after christmas. We did get a good deal on the tree, but when we went to put it up, the WIRES WERE CUT! this was a fire hazard, not to mention frustrating because we had spent hours checking bulbs before we discovered the cut wires. Three strands were out, and customer service was rude, and not at all helpful. They did not care that they were losing me as a customer, and didn't seem concerned that our house could have burnt down, or that we could have been shocked. I would not shop here again, and don't recommend their Christmas trees to anyone!!!!!!! Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can find online discounts for purchases from Frontgate very easily. Simply Google "Frontgate coupon code". I recently made an online purchase of a $299 item. Unfortunately, this fell $1 below the $300 threshold for a $50 off coupon, but I was able to use a 10% off coupon and save $29.90.

I ordered a monogrammed doormat from Frontgate Online. Then I read the reviews on epinions. I was extremely nervous to see how things were going to turn out! It was very simple to order. I even found a coupon online for free shipping. Since the item was personalized, it would be four weeks.
I immediately received an email to confirm the order. About three weeks later, I received another email stating that my order was shipped. The email did not contain the shipping info. I emailed Frontgate within a couple of hours; I received the info. I tracked the package and received it on time. The item was perfect. No hassle Very Satisfied, Shill |

I know Frontgate's products tend to be higher priced, but the quality of the products I've received in the past years shopping with them have always been exceptional. Last week, I had a problem with the Christmas tree I bought from them last year. Through no fault of theirs, one section of my pre-lit tree was destroyed. Even though it was out of warranty, they bent over backwards to help me try to fix the problem, and eventually sent me a replacement tree at no charge.
I did have to make a couple of phone calls, and be persistent (and NICE), but it paid off. And really, if you compare the quality of the products, it's not the same as what you get at Target. For example, their trees have double the lights as most trees found in retail stores, and they box up much nicer for storage. They hold up over the years, and they look much more realistic. I do a lot of business with Frontgate, and have no hesitation about purchasing from them again and again. It's worth paying more. |

I have to say, having read some negative reviews about Frontgate, I actually had a very positive experience with this merchant. After having the same artificial holiday tree for almost 20 years, I ordered a "natural series" Christmas tree, and one of their holiday "trim kits". Shipping was remarkably prompt (considering the size and heft of the tree box), and all the items were very well packaged. I was particularly concerned about the glass ornaments breaking in transit, but every single one arrived in excellent condition, and the box they are shipped in serves as an excellent storage box (it's foam padded, and divided between each ornament). This has been my only order through Frontgate, so I haven't had to resolve any serious customer service issues, but so far, so good. I'd recommend them to a friend.

I ordered an expensive Christmas tree (even though on sale), but the product was much lower quality than I expected and, more importantly, was unstable. So I called few times, I wrote emails, etc. I would have returned it if shipping costs were not so high (heavy tree)... The tree needed to be immediately fixed in order to use it around children. They sent me a 25% discount to cover the costs of repairs. I was very disappointed that such a high-end store sells such low quality products. Don't be fooled by their words on the website and prices...

Pitiful service. I returned 2 items and am still waiting for resolution after 5 phone calls and multiple e-mails. They say the refund was sent as a check because they thought the item had been a gift ???? So they cancelled the check and say they will credit my Mastercard...still waiting. Every time I call they say the credit was processed the day before and it will take 72 hours to post....still waiting. Very snide customer service reps who don't care.

Frontgate/Grandinroad customer service in one word ---------------------INCOMPETENT.
I ordered drape rods and finials. They sent the incorrect items. It took me 4 phone calls to receive my credit and finally receive the correct items. No response from emails. Before this order was delivered I placed a second order for counter stools. After 4 months of waiting I searched the website and the stools were not to be found.I sent an email to ask whether or not they would fulfill my order.'Oh,', they said,'your order was cancelled last week'. They never notified me. It took me many emails to have a gift certificate that I used against this order to be re-issued because it had expired during the time I placed the order. They have no idea what they are doing. Keep your sanity and shop online elsewhere. |

Frontgate is the worst on-line shopping site on earth. When I ordered a present for my nephew's wedding, they attempted to deliver it to the wrong address, in the wrong state, twice before notifying me that they would make one more attempt, and then cancel the order. This notification came AFTER my nephew had already returned from his honeymoon! They refused to write an apology to my nephew, and offered only to ship it the third time, to the right address, for free-- big deal, since I had already paid for the shipping in the original order. They also sent me a $15 gift certificate (again, BIG DEAL)along with perfunctory form apology letter (which they must churn out by the thousands!)-- which I mailed back to their CEO-- since I never intend to buy from them again. I would STRONGLY advise against ordering on-line from Frontgate!

I do not recommend purchasing any products from Frontgate. Their customer service is terrible and the will not help you or work with you to resolve problems in a reasonable manner. I placed an order with them and the order was placed on backorder four times because one small item was not available. I told them that I would pay the extra shipping cost and they refused. This is the worst experience I have ever had with an online retailer.
