I never write reviews, but I have to tell everyone how awesome this site is! Despite seeing some negative reviews, I'm glad I followed my gut and went ahead with the purchase. I got EXACTLY the sunglasses I ordered in one week. Free shipping too. Frames Direct saved me over $100 on my Prada sunglasses. Thanks for everything. I'll be shopping here again and telling everyone about your site.

Very very slow service ( >1 month ). Very rude customer service, especially the one named dianna, not helpful at all, instead blaming customers.
Cheap price. But beware, the quality is NOT as advertised, refurbished frame and second class lenses. When you shop for glasses, you want the best customer service you can get to deal with returns and exchanges. Framesdirect.com is NOT the place you want to go to. |

My experience with Frames Direct was ridiculous! I called them to check the vertical height on a few frames that I was interested in ordering to try on. I was told by the operator that she was "not allowed" to give me the vertical height measurement

Questionable Customer "Service"

I too had difficulties with Frames Direct's return policy. I purchased a $250 pair of rimless frames which I immediately took to my optometrist upon arrival (my insurance only covers work performed by a provider.) Two months later, when the lenses had been created and the eyeglasses were complete, I discovered that the temples of the frames were too short for my face. I then contacted Frames Direct, hoping that, under these unusual circumstances, they would make an exception to their 30 day return policy. I was wrong. Even more frustrating, the representative that I spoke to rejected every potential compromise that I suggested. That is the company's policy, she insisted, and there can be no exceptions.
In sum, I would not recommend Frames Direct to anyone who is not absolutely sure that whatever they wish to order will fit their needs. UPDATE: After I pursued the matter, FramesDirect eventually agreed to an exchange. If anyone else is ever in a similar situation, I recommend (1) calling and not e-mailing or chatting, and (2) being persistent. |

I recently bought two sunglasses online from FD.It would be a xmas present for my mom and my sister. The products arrived few day late but one day before xmas, however both products arrived scratched as it was used. Plus one of the product didn't even look a sunglasses, the material was so bad that you could think it was a toy sunglasses for kids. I sent the sunglasses back to FD on the same day I received them asking for a total refund and until today they didn't me. So, today I tried to contact them throught their online help saying that I wanted to write a review. They told me that they only post good reviews on their sites. And this is the reason why I am here posting my bad experience with Frames Direct. NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

I ordered the glasses about two months ago, just got them today. They were delivered by post, to Romania. In the delivery address I mentioned the name of the company I work for, since they are delivered during working hours. Of course, the Romanian postal office considered the company to be the recipient so they wanted to charge for the customs accordingly. Needless to say that I almost had a nervous brake-down while talking to the postal officers.
I had to wait for 30days for the package to be returned to sender and reshipped by FedEx. The customer support is one of the best I ever encountered (across US, Canada, France, UK and Romania), the product is excellent. Thumbs up. All 3 of them :) |

What a huge mistake from ordering from Frames Direct! I ordered a pair of sunglasses (non prescription) in May. I got every excuse in the book as to why that have not arrived. After waiting from May until August I finally demanded they refund my credit card! Complete disaster of a company...do not trust them whatsoever!

I purchased my first pair of eyeglasses from framesdirect.com. All totalled, I spent less on frames and lenses from framesdirect than I would I have paid at a local eye center. My glasses arrived 11 days after I placed my order and are exactly what I had ordered. There was a slight delay in shipping because my lenses were cut but did not meet quality standards and had to be recut, but I received a phone call from a framesdirect representative about this. Overall, I would say that my experience was pleasant and I would buy from them again.

Prices higher than all other internet stores. Very questionable customer warranty and return service. Try to sell you things that you may not need or want. There are better places to buy eyeglasses on the web.I would not buy from them again.
