I ordered several items for a bathroom remodel, including a sink faucet, tub spout and valve, shower head and shelving unit for the shower.
The shipments took weeks longer than they stated when I ordered the items, holding up work on the bathroom and costing me money and time. There was no communication from the company about this delay. All communication had to be initiated by me, and could only be done through online chat or e-mail (no phone number is provided). This kind of communication often proved to be very slow.
As states in other reviews, they charged us immediately, in the case of some items more than a month before they shipped.
In addition, they charged me more than the price stated on the Web site. I noticed this and they cleared it up after I brought it to their attention.
After finally receiving the items and installing them, there was a problem with the tub valve. I immediately contacted the company, which said it was no longer their problem, but the problem of the manufacturer since it was installed. This is even though their Web site states a lifetime warranty and says they will arrange with the manufacturer to replace defective merchandise. Thankfully, Grohe was helpful.
Simultaneous to this, we were having problems with the shower head. It was supposed to be a low flow showerhead, but we eventually realized it was not. In fact, the flow was four times what it was supposed to be, so every shower we took ran out of hot water in approximately 5 minutes.
Immediately upon realizing where the problem was (we thought it might be the water heater) we contacted the company (now it is about 2 months since we installed it). They tell us that since we no longer have the box and it is installed (i.e. screwed on to the pipe) it is now no longer their problem. Again, there has been very slow response from them. And, the problem is still not resolved.
We saved a little money shopping here, but now it looks as though we will have to spend another $90 or likely more on a new shower head, which will completely wipe out any savings we had made by buying this stuff online rather than with a local retailer who takes responsibility for the goods they sell.
