Ectaco dictionaries

I was NOT satisfied with their Ectaco Partner XL-1500 dictionary and I returned it immediately in the same condition as it was when I received it.

After they confirmed twice they would give me a full refund they changed their mind (!). Not only they retained 6.5% as restocking fee (totally unjustified), but they also charged me for shipping, which they claimed initially to be free for US and Canada. The partial refund came very late, weeks after they received the dictionary back from me.

In total I lost 53 dollars for that dictionary that I returned. I'm really sorry I didn't read the reviews on the Internet before buying it, at least I'd have known that Ectaco are deceiving and have a bad customer service.

They lure the customer with some sale or discount, and then they don't care to solve the problems that make a customer unhappy.

Also, they don't have a toll free phone number for international support (like 1-800). They don't have support and repair offices outside US (e.g. don't be fooled by Ectaco.ca - they do NOT have an office in Canada).

Avoid this company! Otherwise you will lose money and time for their incompetence!
