The Ear Plug Store (www.earplugstore.com) sells so much more than just ear plugs. This super store has ear plugs for every type of need possible and so much more.

I bought things from this site a few times and have always had a pleasant, easy experience.

What the Site Sells

Mainly ear plugs for every type of situation you can imagine - swimming, noise reduction, shooting, snoring relief, concert, and many more plus custom molded plugs. They also sell assistive hearing devices, headphones, musician monitors, white noise items, and a lot more.

Navigation

The site is busy but not overbearing. There are many links and many categories to browse. The home page has links of categories down the left side and there are many photos and links to items on the page. There is a cluster of tabs on the top right side of the page that take you to Customer Service and other help pages as well as to your cart. There is also a sitewide search box.

The category links are broken into very specific categories. Click on one and you get a description of the types of items being sold with some links to informative articles about the value of the items being sold and other info about the category of items. Below that, you will see several thumbnail photos with short descriptions and prices. Click on a thumbnail and you will see a larger photo and a very detailed description of exactly what the item is and does and whom it is best for. If you want to buy something, click to add it to your cart.

When you have completed your shopping, you will be taken to a Yahoo white and yellow check out page.

Fill in your address, phone number, and pick a shipping choice. There are several shipping methods and speeds to choose from but you don't know what your shipping charge will be until after you pick the method. You can pick different methods and apply them to your order until you find one that works for you. Shipping charges are quite low and very fair.

Input your MasterCard, Visa, or America Express Card (or you can print your order and send a check) and email address and you are done. You will get an immediate confirmation email.

As soon as your order ships, you will get another email with shipping and tracking info.

Your order will arrive in the timeframe you chose.

They ship internationally as well as within the United States.

My Experience

I go to The Ear Plug Store to get my Floatable Putty Buddies Colorful Soft Silicone Ear Plugs as well as assistive hearing items and headphones. I enjoy the articles and information that the site provides and I don't have problems navigating although there is a lot of variety on the site.

I can tell you that shipping charges are about $6.80 for things as inexpensive as $5.95 and as expensive as $300.00 so the charges must be based on weight.

I have had no problems or complaints with any orders I have placed. The descriptions are so thorough that it is hard to NOT know exactly what you are getting when you order. Everything has been in working order and packed well.

Prices and shipping are reasonable and I am a repeat customer and plan to be unless something drastic changes.

Shipping and Returns

Their standard shipping method is via USPS First Class Mail within the US for orders weighing up to 13 ounces and USPS Priority Mail on orders over 13 ounces. There are other options as well if you want faster service but they are more expensive.

As far as returns go, anything you buy from The Ear Plug Store (other than custom fitted ear plugs, custom ear molds, white noise CDs and downloadable files) can be returned within 14 days for a full refund or an exchange. You do need a RMA which means you will have to write or call customer service to get authorization to return a product. Shipping charges are not refundable.

There is a whole bunch of info about returning custom fitted ear plugs and ear molds which you should read if you are ordering that type of thing from the site.

During the Christmas holiday time, the length of time that you have to return items is extended. I like that. That protects those who buy items for gifts.

Conclusion

I like this site. It has so many things on it, some of which I never knew existed but find interesting now that I know. The information provided on the site is plentiful and the prices are good. They do have a low price guarantee but I never looked deeply into it as everything I bought was already the lowest I could find.

Shipping costs are reasonable, the returns policy is good, and I have not had a problem at all with any area of the site.

I have to go with 5 stars. This is a site that isn't beautiful or very advanced as far as the look of it, but the products certainly are technologically advanced and priced very well!
