An absolute, utter nightmare full of mistakes and terrible customer service

Lured by the good rates, I opened a savings account with e-loan in early November and deposited an initial sum well over their minimum limit to see how it would go. How it has been is a NIGHTMARE with many hours spent trying to correct their mistakes and dealing with terrible customer service (both in terms of hours of being on hold and agents who contradict each other).

E-loan withdrew the initial deposit that I authorized not once, but twice, causing me to overdraw my regular bank account by thousands of dollars and pay an overdraft fee. Then (after I talked to them and they acknowledged that it was their mistake) they "fixed" the problem three times, causing me to get a letter saying I overdrew my e-loan account by thousands of dollars (which just makes no sense). I have had to fax them, call them, e-mail them and I am still waiting to see if they will ever get me my money back, the interest I have lost (which they claim they will get me), and hopefully just close the darn account.

Please save yourself the hassle - it is not worth it for a little more interest. I have had an ING account for years with no problems at all and I regret ever having been drawn in to e-loan.
