Here's a copy of what I wrote about the Nitto tires purchased at Discount Tires Direct.

I don't buy tires often but did some a (lot) of web research looking first at brands I was familiar with. I learned all about traction and temperature ratings and tread wear ratings, just enough to become real dangerous! However when I stumbled on to the Nitto (unknown to me at all then) review page and saw the glowing reviews I was suspicious thinking maybe these are shills paid by Nitto. No, not really but that thought did cross my mind but ignored it. Anyway, I read enough to convince me to try them out as the ratings were great and so was the price at Discount Tire Direct, again on the net. Well the two tires I ordered arrived today and the first thing that struck me was the weight of them, about 51 lbs according to the UPS ticket and I had to cut the tapes that bound them together to be able to lift them and put them in my car to get them installed which was also done today 7-20-04. I've got a grand total of about 8 or 9 miles on them but already I love them! Very nice feel to them and had trouble holding speed down as the car, a 2000 Impala, seemed to want to run fast! For once in my life it seems I made a good decision as I am very happy with them and the service and fast delivery from Discount Tires Direct too. And, no, I don't have any relationship with either Nitto or Discount Tires Direct! Good Luck and enjoy your Nittos!
