My shopping experience with Discount Merchant? I probably would be watching a 19" black and white t.v. right now! Luckily, Discount Merchant helped me to figure out what was wrong with my big screen t.v., order what I needed, and install the replacement component so that it was back up and running; all this in less than a week!
Not to mention the considerable amount that I saved by not going through a local dealer in my area. The part alone would have cost me roughly $50 more-at least!- and that is without taking into consideration how much they would have charged for the repair.
I swear! I know that this sounds like one of those cheesy infomercials on late night t.v.; if it weren't all true then how would I even know about those infomercials? I wouldn't even have a t.v.!
Everything you need to diagnose your t.v.'s problem is all there on their website. And everything you need to fix it can be found there, too.
And I am not a technical kind of person. Seriously. My boyfriend does not even allow me to use the microwave. I don't blame him. Every single time I have has been a disaster. It is a miracle that I can even work the stove!
But that just goes to show how simple Discount Merchant makes what would otherwise be a pulling-your-hair-out kind of situation. Like Cliff Notes to Shakespeare, they break it down so that even the least technically-inclined (yours truly) can understand.
When the light started blinking rapidly on my Toshiba, there was a sense of dread that began to creep over me. When the picture on the set went out, I really began to panic. When the t.v. turned itself off and the red light came on, I straight lost it. My boyfriend woke up thinking that the house was on fire because I was so freaked out. After all, I was the one who had turned it on last (even if it was only for a minute). Nevertheless, he proceeded to place blame on me and then go back to bed. By the time he woke up, I had already read up on what the red light meant, how to make certain that the problem was the bulb and not something worse like the color wheel, how to remove the broken one and properly dispose of it (since it contains mercury), and on top of all this, I had already contacted Discount Merchant's customer support via email and verified which part I needed and purchased it.
I could not have done any of this without their help. The pictures that went along with the step-by-step instructions were the most helpful to me.
Thanks, Discount Merchant!
