If you don't have the actual receipt they will use the lowest price on record and then issue store credit. I wanted to return an unopened $40 item. They offered $25 (old price) as store credit. Dicks! |

I ordered an elliptical from the Dicks website. The order sat untouched for two weeks. I contacted customer service and the order status changed to "shipped". Another week and half goes by and I don't hear anything from them. I contacted Dicks customer service again and they tell me that I have to now work with the shipping company. Even though "shipped" is probably nothing more than a status a Dicks employee assigned to my order on their computer. I contacted the shipping company via the website and never got a response. A few days later I called them. They told me someone would be calling me the next business day to schedule the delivery. It's been nearly a week since then and I still haven't heard from them. Still haven't received my elliptical. The worst part is a friend of mine ordered the same elliptical and had the exact same problem. Thinking this is a trend for Dicks. I would highly recommend that no one buy anything from Dicks.

Used Dick's online store on Tues Dec. 20 2011 with a promised "delivered by Dec 23 or you order is free if your order before midnight today and item says it is in stock and if you choose ground shipping at checkout" Item was not delivered on time, ...do not trust this site to actually get your items to you when they say, they are just making it all up...my actual delivery date now is Tues Dec. 27th Too LATE for Xmas, order anywhere but from Dick's, if I would have known this I would have ordered from someone else who maybe could have delived on time !!!!

Ordered a youth jersey on Nov. 29th at my local Dick's Sporting Goods (they ordered from online store). Was supposed to arrive at my house between Dec. 2nd and the 9th. I checked the tracking number and there was NO shipping information until today (the 9th) as I had checked the last couple of days. It now says it's supposed to arrive the 13th. Our Christmas is tomorrow (the 10th). I called Dick's during my lunch break today and was on hold and transferred 3 times with nobody in customer service. I called after work and a girl who actually seemed like she cared took probably 45 minutes with me and was on the line with me and the online store. The online store didn't even ship it out until the 6th. So it's somewhere in Ohio with UPS now and Luke is going to get a 'picture' of the jersey tomorrow...what every kid wants.

I would highly recommend that EVERYONE check their EXTENSIVE sale exclusions list BEFORE wasting any amount of time on this website. Everything I chose was excluded from the sale...30 minutes of my valuable time sacrificed...I am definitely unsubscribing!!!!! Dicks has a great selection, anything you would want, but it's annoying for them to send an email claiming "20% OFF ENTIRE ORDER" only to find just about everything is excluded. Granted, most companies have SOME exclusions but Dick's is really over the top....just check it out and you will see that their emails should be deleted immediately if you're looking for a sale.

I've been a Dick's Sporting Goods customer at their El Segundo location for about a year now and have had a decent experience until recently. I bring my tennis rackets in to be restrung. They told me it would be ready in 4 days. I checked on the morning of the 5th day at it wasn't ready. I then checked on the afternoon of the 6th day and it still wasn't ready. Now I'm tempted to just ask for a refund and take my business somewhere else. They really displayed a poor level of customer service regarding this issue. I'll be shopping at a different sporting goods store from now on.

Last week Dick's sent me a email announcing a 20% off sale. Of course there were pages of 'exclusions' but I checked them all out. I wanted to purchase a Golf Cart. The manufacturers name did not appear on the list so I started the order but the 20% off did not appear. I called Customer Service (?) and explained my issue and was put on hold for 10 minutes. When he returned I was told that the Golf Cart was classified as a "Hauling Rack" and excluded from the sale. Of course hauling racks were on the exclusions listing but c'mon anyone who plays golf knows that a golf cart is not a hauling rack. They screwed up on the listing and when I challenged them on it they did not honor the 20% off. Be Careful when ordering online with Dick's.

My advice is do not purchase eGift Certificates from Dicks. My 6 year old grandson needed pads for his first day of football practice and they live 100 miles away. So I thought I was helping by getting them a eGift Certificate and having it emailed like every other company does. Instead my grandson doesn't have pads for football because Dick's Customer Service FAILED to tell me they were only able to be used for ONLINE PURCHASES.
Having called Customer NO Service I was told its on their website and that is their policy. When I explained I purchase via phone from their staff I was told sorry but they are sure I must have been told. This used to be a company I HAD respect for... |

Tried to buy a treadmill for weeks and you get a different answer from everyone on when it will be in!! they are the worst store I have every delt with. Pay extra and buy somewhere else. It's not worth it.

I am stil having a terrible experience with Dick's Sporting Goods. I ordered life vests for my kids who are starting sailing lessons in a few days (they must have these). so the on phone sales rep told me I had the option of paying extra for a 2-day shipping. But wait, they still haven't shipped. when I called DSG they informed me that the 2-day meant that when "their vendor" processed the order "usually taking a couple of days, the order whould then take another two days to ship! What - I wasn't told this up frony. Also, I expect Dick's to be the vendor - how many vendors are there! there's more. I was just told my another rep, Jason, that Dick's actually doesn't have any warehouse at all! Everything is shipped from a third party! I could have done much better at amazon or Modells. I will never shop at Dick's again (and I will probably return the order if I ever receive it)

I ordered an item from Dick's for my son for Christmas. They guaranteed delivery by the 24th. The item never arrived for Christmas and the company says that my requests are in review. They falsely advertised that items would be shipped for Christmas in the hopes of snatching up shoppers at the last minute. I hope that noone else was cuaght in the trap. I will never order again from this company. Noone was available to discuss the order on the 24th. They also said that there would be no charge for items that were not delivered in time for Christmas. If you read closely in their exclusions section you will find that they don't really guarantee delivery. They state that if the carrier can't get it to you by that date then you are just out of luck. What a copout.

Went in to Dick's sporting good on 2/23/2011 and purchased a brand new treadmill. Spent 1200 dollars! As of today, 3/7/2011, we still have not received delivery of the treadmill. We have contacted Dick's in Henderson NV and spoken to two managers there and they have not been able to get our treadmill delivered in a timely manner. They use The 6th Man Delivery Service and that is a joke as the delivery service has been giving us the run around for almost two weeks now, wasting our time waiting and not having the item we purchased.If the treadmill is not delivered today by 5pm we will be canceling the payment for this unit with American Express which was the way we paid for it. I am so terribly disappointed in Dick's and will not buy there again.

Received a gift certificate for Christmas to Dick's, also signed up on e-mail to receive special of 10% discount on first item purchase. What a joke! There is hardly any thing you can buy and receive the discount, they say the mfg. does not honor the discount so too bad! One would think Dick's would give the discount if a customer wants to spend a couple hundred dollars with them, NOT! I wanted to buy a $150+ golf bag. Terrible to be stuck with a valuable gift card at a company that I do not want to do business with!

Horrible return/exchange policy. I received a gift which I did not care for. The price tag was still on it: $49 on sale. As it was a gift, I did not have a receipt nor a gift receipt. Nor did I want to ask the person who gave me the gift for a receipt. I took it back to Dicks, and asked to exchange it for another item. They would only give me $28 store credit. The item was on the rack right next to the cashier for $49. The rediculous way to handle returns for store credit is nothing more than a revenue generator for Dicks. As such, anyone who is considering a gift for someone who be well advised to choose a different store. This is a horrible way to treat customers and to try and stack your bottom line. Stay far away from this store.

I canceled my order by calling the customer service with in a hour of placing the order and they could not cancel the order and I was told to deny the shipment for full refund including shipping charges. But now they do not return the shipping charges. What a rip off site.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had trying to buy new rifle. Have been waiting a week now because my application for a new gun was delayed. At first I thought nothing of this since a few times I have had to wait about 2 hours for approval. This experience with Dicks blows everything away. The law says, if there is a delay, the store can go ahead with the transfer - after 3 days.. Well Dicks, its been a week. I have no criminal record and have always been able to buy any gun I want including handguns. You have made me feel like a criminal. Personally, I think there is an inventory or price problem and Dicks does not want to let the purchase be made since - yes it was a good deal, but not worth this BS. I will go else where and pay an extra $100 bucks for it and will never, never enter a Dicks store again

I received an email offering 20% off one item. When I went to purchase the item (crossbow) I had a terrible time thinking I did something wrong. When I called I was informed this item did not qualify for the discount. I requested a return call from a supervisor and was told I would receive a call next day. I am still waiting. Ordered yesterday online an item they said was in stock using the 25% off one item Cyber Moinday Sale. Guess what? Got an e-mail today saying the item was out of stock and THEY ARE NOT HONORING the 25% discount on a replacement, even though they said it was in stock yesterday!!! I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!!! They just decided they were selling too much and this is their way out. From what I underwstood from customer service this is a broadcast e-mail to thousands of online shoppers who only bought the one item for 25% off. They are offering a 15% off one item. What does that tell you? They want you to pay more than what they were offering in the first place. I think Dick's Sporting Goods is about like all politicians. They are not worth the trouble or the time to waste you thoughts on. So why am I? Well someone has to tell it like they see it and I see them all as worthless!!!!

Very poor to non-existent customer service in the store, and even worse on line. Nobody can help you, nobody knows anything, and there is nobody to contact and nothing they can do (in-store it's plain, old-fashioned bad staff. Online, I had some sort of glitch when I used a gift card in combination with paypal - the paypal didn't go through for some reason (nothing even shows up on paypal as even an attempted transaction), the order was cancelled, but the gift card was not credited back. Dick's says I need to get resolution with paypal - it was a DICK'S gift card. They sent an email initially that said there was 48 hours to check my payment option and resolve the issue, and at the exact same time I got an email saying the order was cancelled. The response from both phone and online customer service is what I described above.) When I sent an email to customer service, they did not even read it, but sent a canned response that didn't even apply to the situation - and were very sorry for the inconvenience.
