I didn't purchase online, but from a cruise also and would like to make my experience known so others do not make the same mistake. The jewelry that Diamonds International sells is as everyone says-- junk. I am going to file complaints everywhere to try to help stop others from getting ripped off. I saw the set I wanted in the Ketchikan, Alaska store while on a cruise. They told me what my current set would be worth as a trade towards the new set. I decided to wait and not buy it that day. When we returned home I called and ordered the new set and sent them my trade (the value was almost $4000 with my trade). They charged my card IMMEDIATELY after my call for the new set and then sent the wrong rings. I then had to ship that set back. They had sold the set I really ordered and had to search other stores to find another set like it. It took over 2 months to get the rings I really wanted and ordered (which came from Cozumel). After 3 months a small diamond fell out. I called Diamonds International and fought with them about the quality and them paying to have it repaired. They wanted me to send it to them to take a look at and then they would call me and let me know how much they would charge ME to repair it (which, by the way could take 6-8 weeks). I refused to send it to them because I didn't trust them. I paid $225 to have the stone replaced at a local jeweler who also stated there was no reason for it to have fallen out. There were no bent or broken prongs. I don't even want to have my set appraised after the crap I have read online. So many complaints about the rings not appraising at the value they state--in fact they seem to be appraising for FAR LESS!!!! I don't want to know what my JUNK is worth. After many phone calls screaming and yelling and demanding, they mailed me a letter (after a month's time) to sign agreeing to a $300 store credit. I refused it because I didn't want any more junk!!! I told them I would not settle for NO less than the $225 reimbursement. They sent me a letter to sign agreeing to reimbursement for the $225. I signed and faxed it twice. It has been 1 month and I have no money!!!!!! They don't return phone calls or emails either!!!! Worthless company!!!!! I beg you not to buy from them!!!!
