The delivery time was a few days longer than I expected. I am still waiting for one DVD that is on backorder. No expected date for shipment was given. I would like to know that. Overall, a very good experience and I would certainly use DeepDiscount.com again.

Deep Discount web site listed an item as being "in-stock" when the item was on backorder. The item would appear to be in-stock and then on backorder when you placed the order. Then it would say backorder on the site but the next day would say in-stock again. When I would call they would say it was on backorder even though their site said in-stock. Also, had a problem with the expiration date on my credit card. Instead of contacting me to correct the problem, they just cancelled my entire order. Will not buy from them again. They are fraudulant in listing items as in-stock when they are not.

Purchased a book for christmas gift. Suddenly it was unavailable. I am still waiting. I do not believe that they did not know at the time of order that it would be backordered. If I had been told I could have gone somewhere else and already had it. As it is I don't know when or if it will come.

After 4 emails from me, I still do not have a response that indicates my email was actually read. I ordered 4 of one item and was notified that 1 item had been shipped. I asked whether they expected to receive stock in time to receive these items before Christmas so I could cancel the order and buy elsewhere if they did not. Still no real answer to my question. Totally unsatisfactory customer service; they send automated responses and skirt the question.

I tried purchasing an item that was listed as "in-stock" after waiting weeks for it to come in. Once ordered, it was listed as "on backorder". Also, my order was repeatedly canceled and when reinstated, I was put at the end of the waiting line for the product. They claimed it was canceled due to an issue with my credit card which was soon fixed, then there was an issue with my name because they claim the police called and said to block me from ordering due to some type of fraud, which I never had a problem with my card (I should know if there was a problem with someone ordering from my own card shouldn't I? lol). In the end, I offered to show proof of who I am and that I was the real owner of the card, which they told me I would have to call the police and have them fix it with the site. And what exactly do I tell the police when I've NEVER had a problem with it? Too many problems on this site. And the customer service and their management didn't help to fix the problem. Plus they shouldn't advertise items as in stock when they really aren't. And when there is a problem with an order and the err is on THEIR side, they should keep your place in the waiting line, not stick you at the end when the reason was a fault of their own. Very disgusted with the site. While shopping online to find a new place to get the item needed, I found quite a few other sites that had items for less than deepdiscount. It pays to shop around before purchasing, which is what I'll do from now on and I'll never be back at deepdiscount again.

The only complaint I have is that there is not much info regarding the contents of many of the DVDs offered for sale. I wanted to look at Popeye 1933-1938 to find out how many cartoons are on the DVD collection and the titles of the cartoons. None of that information is avaiable. There is a good selection of DVDs, but not much info as to what's actually on the DVDs listed.
In Question #2 above. I checked off "NO", because I have not yet received either of the 2 DVDs I ordered. One was on backorder, the other wasn't. I haven't gotten either as of 12/7/08.

The day that this order was shipped, the price was dropped about $15 on one of the items. When I questioned them about this, I was told that the price could not be changed. At that point it was cheaper for me to send this copy of the item back and order the item again at the lower price. This meant that I had to pay additional in postage to return it and Deep Discount had to pay postage for the newly order item. Needless to say, I wasn't happy.

just one complaint -- I ordered 3 books and was told at the time that 1 was on backorder. But when my order shipped it turned out that 2 were actually on backorder, so only 1 came right away. However, the other 2 are already on their way, so overall a good experience.
I also appreciate the fact that they don't overdo the packaging -- books don't require styrofoam peanuts!
