I dont remember how I first discovered the Databazaar website. Most likely I was doing an internet search looking for the best price for whatever. The prices on Canon specialty papers are especially good, so good that Ive ordered from this site multiple times and have bookmarked them for future visits.
What Do They Sell
When you reach the home page of Databazaar a list of product categories is at the top of the page arranged horizontally. Ink cartridges, Laser Toners, Specialty Papers, Storage media, Printer ribbons and parts and accessories are listed across the screen. Clicking on one of the categories brings on to another page devoted to that product line. The shopper may choose from 31 companies which includes all the majors including Dell, Konica, IBM, Fuji, Sharp, Imation, Epson, and Okidata among others.
Hows the Layout and Ease of Navigation?
Its actually very smooth and easy to navigate, even for a potato head. I like that the shopper can choose between searching by product category and then refine the search by choosing from drop down menus or one may shop by brand and again refine the search my clicking on items in the drop down menus. For example, I may want to buy a new ink cartridge and click on that category. Im taken to a page where I have a choice of brands from which to choose. If I click on Canon, Im taken to a menu listing all the Canon machines for which Databazaar sells ink cartridges. I click on Multipass MP730 and a list of choices appears on my screen. Most items are accompanied by a reasonably sized photograph. For each item a price is shown in a large, red font. If I decide to buy, I click on buy it, and then check out. At that point I type in my password or register.
Registering is worthwhile because all ones shipping information is saved, streamlining the buying process.
What Has Your Shopping Experience Been With Databazaar
Its been very positive. Ive made four or five purchases from them with nary a complaint. This week I ordered some Canon specialty papers. I couldnt find a better price anywhere, either online or in an actual, embodied store. The key here is that there is no shipping charge with which to contend. I did find lower prices on some items at Amazon, but shipping charges boosted prices over the Databazaar standard, and the seller was not Amazon but a partner with whom Im not familiar.
Check out was very easy because my personal information had been retained. In short order I received an email receipt for my transaction. Later in the day I received an email informing me that my order had been shipped and providing me with a tracking number.
Four days later the order arrived at my home in good condition and well packaged, delivered to my door by DHL Express.
Can You Add Anything Else?
I especially like the free shipping feature of Databazaar. On many sites shipping is a hidden cost, not revealed until the late stages of checkout.
Shoppers have the option of paying by credit card or Paypal. Ive done both with no difficulties. Orders may be placed by phone or online.
Ive never had to contact customer service though shoppers have several options here also. Several phone numbers associated with actual people names are provided. There is also a generic phone number listed as well as a fax number. Live chat using the keyboard is also an option. A buyer may also contact Databazaar by email or snail mail . I once emailed them asking for product information and received a prompt, friendly reply.
For some ink cartridges a compatible substitute is available for about half the price of the name brand. Ive always been leery of nonbrand ink and have never ordered one of these, even with the tempting steep discount.
Special volume pricing is available for corporations, military orders, or educational groups or institutions.
Databazaar is not a perfect site. Not all prices are the best available and some specific items on certain brands may not be available. For example, the choice of ink cartridges for my Canon Multipass is very limited.
