Shopping experience NOT GOOD. Comp-U-Plus practices deceptive advertising. Would not honor price listed for Plextor PX-708UF external DVD player/recorder. Posted price was $205 today (June 30, 04), but when I called they wanted to charge $235 and would not honor the $205.00 price. They said product had gone up in price but that web site not updated. Deceptive marketing. They should have honored the internet price they advertised.

The least expensive shipping option was UPS 2nd day air. I would probably have opted for a regular rate, but the merchant uses this minimum option as they require a signature acceptance of the shipment. Given the relative expense of the digital camera and accompanying accessories, this seems like a reasonable precaution. Since I ordered the camera near the end of a week, the delivery was interrupted by the weekend, so the UPS 2nd day air worked out to be more like 4-5 days. Still, this vendor not only offered the camera at a very competitive price, the optional accessories I purshased (Ultra San Disk memory card, Lexar multi-card reader, and an extra Li-Ion battery, were all priced lower than most competing merchants. Finally, CompuPlus.com kept me fully apprised of the status of the order. The day after the evening I placed my online order, I received three E-mail messages from CompuPlus. The first acknowledged and thanked me for the order; the second let me know that the order had been pulled and prepared for shipping; the third let me know that it had been shipped and gave me the UPS tracking number link, so that I could monitor the progress of the shipment in transit to me. All in all, this was a most pleasant online shopping experience. I highly recommend this vendor to other potential customers.

their shipping charge was very expensive. Their cheapest form of shipping is $14.95 two day shipping by air. The only reason I bought from them was because their price for my product was much cheaper than anywhere else. After adding the shipping though it was over the price of other companies but because of the fast shipping I went ahead and bought from them. Their prices are exeptional though, so in the future if they change their shipping methods I'll buy from them again.

My only complaint was that the item descriptions weren't quite complete enough. I wasn't sure exactly what I would need in addition to the Ipod in order to play it in my car. However, the prices are good enough and the shipping fast enough that I didn't object too strongly to having to place an additional order to get the accessories necessary.

Their prices are consistently lower than other on-line merchants. However, the merchandise was not shipped for two days from the time the order was made and the only correspondence was that my order was in queue and would be filled "in the order in which it was received." (I called twice but reached voice mail and opted not to leave a message.) In the future I will know to place the order earlier and understand that the "ships in 48 hours" applies only once the order is actually filled. A minor inconvenience, but a little unnerving since I did not know this beforehand and was in a bit of a time crunch. Otherwise, I'm amazed at their pricing, and their web site with product information is outstanding!!! I WILL no doubt shop at Compuplus again!
