I was browsing the internet one day, looking for a new monitor. I went to CompUSA.com and spotted a ViewSonic (excellent brand) 17 in. PerfectFlat CRT monitor for only $99! It was on clearance, and right after I ordered the product and went back to the detail screen, I noticed that the option to add the monitor to your cart had disappeared. I had gotten the last one! So I thought, "Hey, I have really good luck!" The shipping price was very reasonable at $15, with a $5 tax. I didn't mind the extra $5 too much, since I had also discovered a $50 rebate to my item. My gut instinct was telling me that it was too good to be true, but I figured "Why not?". The rebate required the original UPC and the receipt (like most rebates do).
When I received my product (on time), I noticed that the monitor was not in the original box, and therefore, would not be able to use the rebate! Upon opening the box, I found out that there was nothing in there except for the monitor itself and the A/C cord. No manual, no receipt, no nothing. So I quickly called CompUSA to ask them about the box and the receipt. I was put on hold for about 15 minutes, and then was finally connected. The person I talked to checked the inventory, but couldn't find my product (already knew I had the last one), and offered a full refund (paying for shipping also). I declined the refund and decided to cut my losses and keep the monitor. Overall, it was an acceptable shopping experience other than the poor packaging.
